In Stardew Valley, players have the opportunity to fish and use their catches as food, gifts, or more.

Some fish have a higher price than others, and they spawn in various spots throughout the game.

It should be noted that some fish will only spawn at certain times and the Bream falls into this category.

With its sell price and how easy it is to catch, it is one of the better fishes early on in Stardew Valley, and players often try to find them for recipes, gifts, and gold.

With so many exciting options, it would be easy to overlook the humble Bream, one of the more common varieties of scaly creatures.

Bream in Stardew Valley

Bream is a nocturnal river-dwelling fish caught between 6 pm, and 2 am in the River in Pelican Town or the Cindersap Forest pond.

These can be caught in any season or weather and are not hard to catch as they have a difficulty rating of 35 points.

To catch Bream fish at any time of day, add Magic Bait to your fishing rod.

Once you have Bream, you can donate one to the Night-Time Fishing Bundle in the Fish Tank at the Community Centre.

Fishing

Breams are river-dwelling and nocturnal Fish that can only be caught between the hours of 6 pm and 2 am.

Bream can also be caught in any season, in any weather.

It has a difficulty rating of 35 points and can be caught regardless of fishing level, therefore should not be too hard for you to catch as it requires little fishing skill.

If, however, you choose to use Magic Bait, this means that you can catch a Bream at any time of the day, not just between 6 pm and 2 am!

Magic Bait can be purchased from QI’s Walnut Room if you want to use these, they are single-use and should be attached to your fishing rod.

You cannot use a training fishing rod, but you can purchase advanced rods like a fiberglass rod from Willy’s Fish Shop.

Purchase

Bream cannot be purchased in Pierres General Store, but can occasionally be found in the Travelling Cart, which visits Pelican Town on Fridays and Sundays.

The shop appears west of Marnie’s Ranch and closes at 8 p.m. on the days it visits however, things are extremely pricey and not always guaranteed!

Looting

There is always the opportunity of discovering a Bream in the bins along with the Town.

Once a day, you can search through each bin and have the chance to find pretty much anything.

Although the chances of finding a Bream when you need one are very rare, so I would not rely on this method of sourcing a Bream if you are eager or working toward a deadline!

What are Breams used for?

Breams serve various purposes in Stardew Valley, including crafting Baked Fish, Maki Rolls, Sashimi, and Quality Fertilizer.
