Think of the game Sims, where you simulate the life you desire for the character you’ve created. The only difference is that BitLife is a pocket version, and instead of 3D, it’s text-based—perfect for casual and offline players.

Bitlife offers numerous expansion packs to keep its beloved sim players entertained, with one of the most notable being the “Cult Expansion Pack.” In this article, I will guide you on your unusual journey of starting your own cult!

After purchasing the Cult Expansion Pack in Bitlife, you have the option to either continue your current save or start a new game. I recommend starting from scratch for the full and challenging experience.

Growing to be a Cult Leader
To get started with your cult in Bitlife, you will need to purchase a plot for your sanctuary, and the cost can vary depending on its appeal. The higher the appeal of your sanctuary plot, the more pleased your compound dwellers will be.

To quickly earn money for purchasing a high-appeal sanctuary plot, ensure your character grows up with full smarts and then pursue a career path with a high salary.

Purchase your Cult Sanctuary Plot

To acquire your own sanctuary plot, you need to be at least 18 years old and have enough money for the mortgage. The lower the appeal, the cheaper the plot becomes, and each plot can be upgraded to the next tier once you receive enough funds from your followers.

Once you’re ready, go to the Relationships section and tap on “Commune.” This will open a window with a list of sanctuary plots you can purchase in BitLife.
Become a Leader
After acquiring a sanctuary for your cult, you will be redirected to a new window where you can decide on a name and philosophy for your new commune.

After deciding on a name and philosophy, a new window will open for the cult’s Doctrine. This determines the rules that will serve as the foundation of your commune’s belief system. There is already a list; all you have to do is choose what fits you best.

With the Doctrine all set, it’s time to decide on the Entrance Fee and Annual Fee. Since you’ve just started, set the fee a bit lower to make it easier to invite followers. Once you have enough people to carry out outreach missions and build structures through followers’ donations, you may consider increasing the fees in Bitlife.

Congratulations, you are now a Cult Leader! With your cult officially created, you will start attracting followers into your fold.
Managing your Cult

For a cult to be successful, you need followers who are loyal to you and your philosophy. You can assess the loyalty of your cult dwellers in the Compound section.
Raise followers Loyalty
Increasing the loyalty level of your followers is fairly easy. Head to your Cult section, then tap on Commune and then your Sanctuary to access the list of activities with your beloved followers in Bitlife.
Performing Ceremonies, Outreach Missions, and Teaching will boost the loyalty meter. Keep doing these engagements after each Age Up.

Be cautious when undertaking an “Outreach Mission.” If you cause trouble during the tour, there’s a chance the police could apprehend you or some of your followers may get apprehended for violent behavior.
Conducting “Outreach Missions” is the easiest way to recruit new members. The more people you have in your cult, the more money you earn each year in Bitlife.
Use the Cult Money
Money keeps your cult running. Each year, you will receive a Commune Ledger listing the revenue and earnings, including follower gains and losses. Use this information to plan your next strategy, specifically where to allocate your funds.

You may use the funds for your personal needs, such as paying for your house or acquiring a new vehicle. However, keep in mind that followers will question where the money went.
“Performing Ceremonies” will appease your followers, as there is a cost to initiate the activity. This demonstrates to them that you’re putting the money to good use.

My favorite ceremony is the “Spiritual Journey” which allows you and your followers to take a dose of recreational medication in Bitlife for a small fee. A successful and satisfying ceremony could lead to generous donations from your loyal followers.
Build Structure for Cult Sanctuary
With more followers and loyal communards in your fold, you will receive plenty of money to sustain the cult.
Invest these funds in building structures for your compound to increase its “Appeal.” The higher the “Appeal,” the happier your followers become, and more people from higher classes are eager to join the communards in Bitlife.

If building structures or expanding the sanctuary plot is beyond your budget, you can ask your loyal followers and communards to contribute to the construction costs.
However, if you have enough money and still choose to ask your followers, there’s a chance they will question your decision.

An unhappy and dangerously low loyalty level will lead to losing followers, so make sure you’re engaging in enough activities, upgrading your sanctuary for appeal, and interacting with your members in person by befriending them, complimenting them, and giving small gifts.
