Battle Stars is an Indian take on the fan-favorite Brawl Stars. Both games differ (obviously) but they do have some similarities in the gameplay.

Battle Stars is a tactical shooter with both Team Deathmatch (TDM) and Battle Royale (BR) game modes. Besides, you get to choose from 19 different heroes, some of which keep getting replaced by newer and exclusive ones.

You have the option to upgrade your heroes which enhances their weapon’s power and range. Moreover, you can improve their speed and many other stuff to get the most out of them.

In this article, I will be discussing all about Battle Stars, including the basics, tips, and the latest codes you can redeem.

Basics of Battle Stars

The basics of Battle Stars are pretty simple and the same as Brawl Stars. I’ll list them below for easier understanding.

  • You have to choose a hero to enter the battle.
  • Each TDM is 2:30 minutes and the first team to 200 points wins.
  • If the time runs out and no team reaches 200, then the team with the most points wins.
  • Each player on the team has 5 lives. If all of them die five times each, the other team will win.
  • The Battle Royale continues until there’s one person (solo mode) remaining or the last squad (squad mode) wins.

Now let’s look at how the controls work:

  • You have to move the left joystick to move your hero.
  • You have to drag the right joystick in the direction of your enemies to shoot.
  • The players should always collect power-ups like HP bars, bombs, shields, speed-increment, size-increment, and others to gain advantage.
  • Tap on the power-up icon to activate it.

How to Change Your Controls

Understandably, you might want to change where your left and right joysticks are placed. Similarly, you might want to change the placement or size of the power-up button.

For this, simply tap on the gear icon on the top-right of the home screen and select Edit Controls.

Now from here, tap on each button, and you can change their placement and size easily.

Going back to the three-bar menu will also allow you to change the aim sensitivity. So if the aim feels too fast or too slow, feel free to adjust it according to your liking.

The Theme of Battle Stars

If you’re an Indian, you’ll love the Indian touch given to the game. What do I mean? Well, you’ll find Vada-pao stalls, Momo stands, and many more things on the map that are famous in India.

Moreover, one game mode is basically the battle between two Indian cities; Mumbai and Delhi. Each city gets four players and the team with 200 points wins. There’s also a hero “Patil” who is an Indian police officer.

Overall, the theme of the game is very intriguing, colorful, and pleasing to look at. The game does have room for more maps and modes and the developers will certainly be working on that.

Heroes in Battle Stars

There are 19 heroes in Battle Stars divided into multiple rarities and roles. Some are great at attack while others are necessary to add defensive prowess to your team. Oh, and don’t forget the underrated supportive heroes!

Out of the 19 heroes, there are 16 that you will eventually unlock in the game. The rest of the three are either exclusive to the premium battle pass or require the players to purchase a pack to unlock them.

Having said that, here are the three roles into which heroes are divided:

  • Attack
  • Defense
  • Support

Moreover, here are the rarities of the heroes:

  • Common
  • Uncommon
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary
  • Iconic

The better the rarity, the more powerful the hero. You’ll start off with some common ones like Jack and Karen before moving on to others.

If you’re wondering how you unlock heroes in the game, then this is done by opening crates. Each crate you open gives you hero cards. If the crate is a bigger one, then you can get as many as 20 cards.

Once you have enough cards for a hero, you can equip them and start using them in battles.

How to Upgrade Your Heroes

Upgrading heroes is absolutely necessary to survive in Battle Stars. If your hero doesn’t have upgraded stats, they will fail to win fights against players with upgraded heroes.

Upgrading a hero improves their:

  • Health
  • Health regeneration
  • Weapon damage
  • Weapon range

Upgrading a hero also unlocks their skins and believe me, they look super cool! The detailing in the game is epic and the themes of the maps and skins show exactly that.

Game Modes in Battle Stars

Battle stars game modes

Currently, there are 4 game modes in Battle Stars as follows:

  • Team Deathmatch (4v4)
  • Team Rumble (4v4)
  • Battle Royale (Solo)
  • Battle Royale (6 Squads)

Now here’s an overview of each game mode:

Team Deathmatch (4v4)

This is a simple TDM match where you have 2:30 minutes to get 200 points as a team. You will get 10 points for each member of the opposition team you kill.

If the time runs out and no team reaches 200, then the one with the most points will win. If both teams have equal points, the game will be a draw.

Team Rumble (4v4)

This is a time-limited event currently and it is similar to TDM. But here you represent a city; either Delhi or Mumbai.

So basically it is a 4v4, but you get to fight as a city. Moreover, the map is different too, and has a lot of areas to attack the opposition.

The rules for this mode are the same as TDM.

Battle Royale (Solo)

Just like any other solo BR game, this one is also “every man for himself.” You get dropped on a map with 11 opponents and the goal is to survive till the end and be the only one remaining.

For this, you can accumulate ammo and multiple power-ups. You can equip three different power-ups three times. So at a time, you can have as many as 9 power-ups ready to go.

Battle Royale (6 Squads)

This is similar to the solo BR mode but you have a team of 3 members. Moreover, if someone from your team gets knocked out, you can revive them.

The last squad to remain will win the game.

Play With Your Friends!

I assume you’d like to team up with your friends now and dive right into these game modes. So for that, follow these steps:

  1. From the home screen of the game, tap on Squad Up.

  1. Now select Create Party and invite your friends to the lobby.
  2. Otherwise, you can add a code to join an existing lobby created by your friend.

Once all 3 or 4 of you are together (depending on the game mode), you can start playing and enjoying!

Bonk Pass and Crates in Battle Stars

Bonk Pass is basically the battle pass in Battle Stars. With the premium one, you can get exclusive heroes, legendary skins, premium crates, discounts on crates, crate keys, hero upgrades, gems, gold, and some extra rewards.

The free battle pass is pretty ordinary but it does give you great hero upgrades and a premium skin at the end.

As for the crates, you get them after winning a game. Once done, you have to unlock them and they will reward you with hero cards and gold.

Some crates get unlocked in 1 hour while some can take 8 hours or so. The better the crate, the more the rewards.

You only have four slots for crates, so make sure you keep opening them regularly to make room for more.

Shop in Battle Stars

If you want to spend some money on the game, then you’ll love the shop in Battle Stars. It lets you buy premium crates, time-limited crates, and gems.

Besides, it also offers a free reward every 24 hours. Having said that, I’d have liked it if the shop was more free-to-play oriented.

Battle Stars Latest Codes

Battle Stars was released in April this year so it is still in its early stages. This is the reason why there isn’t a code hub in the game at the moment.

Yes, you can support some content creators by activating their codes, however, there isn’t any option to enter rewards-redeeming codes at the moment.

Having said that, the biggest update of the game was released a few days ago and there might be a possibility of redeeming codes coming to the game in the next update or so.

As an assumption, the codes will most likely give gold, gems, skins, and hero cards. I certainly hope they are included in the game sooner rather than later!

Tips and Tricks to Excel in Battle Stars

Battle Stars might look simple but it isn’t. There are dozens of strategies that you can implement and check out which one works the best for you for each game mode.

Having said that here are a few tips and tricks that will help you become better at the game quickly:

1. Don’t Go Fighting Alone

This is the most basic tip that anyone will give you for a TDM or a squad BR game. If you think of doing a hero moment and taking on all 3 or 4 of the opposite players, then the chances of your hero dying are far higher than surviving.

This is why you should always stick with the squad and devise strategies to attack together from different positions.

2. Keep Grabbing Power-Ups

Power-ups are extremely important in the game and they can prolong your life in battles.

Different power-ups are used to regain health, shoot a bomb on the enemies, increase speed, increase size, and get a shield.

If you don’t grab them, then you won’t survive for long.

3. Go to the Bushes to Regain Health

If you’re low on health, then don’t insist on fighting enemies that have their health bars full.

Staying in bushes

In such cases, head over to the bushes for a few seconds to regain health and then take on fights all you want.

4. Try to Maintain a Killing Streak

Battle Stars is not only about killing the enemies, it’s also about saving your life so your team doesn’t lose.

Therefore, be clever and attack enemies by taking covers. If you go on a 5 or 7-kill streak, let’s say, then you have done enough for your team to win the game.

5. Don’t Stand Still in a Fight

If you stand still, you are an easy target for the enemies. So like every other shooting game, you have to be moving left, right, up, and down while fighting to avoid the enemy attacks.

Keep dodging them while shooting your weapon!

6. Regularly Open Crates and Upgrade your Heroes

Make sure to open your crates on time and then put the next one in for unlocking. The more crates you open, the more gold and hero cards you get.

Crate rewards including hero cards and gold

Both of these things are compulsory for upgrading your heroes, so don’t miss out on any crate.

7. Include Heroes from Different Roles in the Team

Having all three attacking, defensive, or supporting heroes isn’t always the way to go.

Try different combinations and see which one works best for you and your teammates.

8. Focus on the Weak Points of the Opposition

Let’s say the enemy team has mostly short-range heroes. This can be taken advantage of if the heroes on your team are long-range.

Target the short-range enemies from a distance and try to eliminate them as soon as possible.

Similar to this, focus on other weak points that you can notice in-game.

Conclusion

And this was all about the Battle Stars guide! The game is very fun and you can have a great time playing it with your friends.

Just make sure to implement the tips I gave and you’ll become a very decent player sooner than later.
