While luck plays a role in determining who you get from the Draw (the game’s gacha mechanic), you can gauge how your current team stands by noting who’s inside your group.
Bear in mind that this tier list does not include C-rank fighters because they are extremely weak to begin with and can’t be Awakened further. With that out of the way, let’s jump right into it.
Tier 1: Grandmaster

At the peak of their prowess, fighters in Tier 1 can be deployed for any type of mission in Street Fighter: Duel. Although they are rarer to get, they’re nearly unstoppable once you acquire, awaken, and equip them with the best gear.

A rampaging beast, Akuma is a deadly fighter who’s capable of taking down the toughest foes due to his absurd skill damages, Burn debuff, and stackable damage boost/ defenses for every HP lost.
Athlete Chun-Li

Dhalsim

Dhalsim’s peaceful demeanor hides a destructive side; he spews fire at anyone attacking him, inflicting stacks of Burn that gradually deplete enemies’ HP. He can even boost his Flame damage and Dodge through meditation, which is unique to his character.
Diviner Rose

Flame Chun-Li

The only Monster Hunter collaboration unit so far, Gore Magala Ken is truly horrifying. His kit dances around the Dragonrage Curse (applied to EVERYONE once unlocked), weakening the team that fails to dispel it, but bolsters the damage of the entire group that manages to cleanse it.
His play style is a high-risk-high-reward one. Apart from that, GM Ken also enjoys Life Steal, stronger resistances, and a chance to quadruple his C3 damage when fully grinded!
Guile

The American soldier, Guile, is a fighter who excels in penetrating foes’ Defenses through the use of his Saber stacks. Coupled with his insane combo damages, he wreaks havoc while inflicting Armor Breaks as well.
Juri

Juri is a crazy damage dealer in Street Fighter: Duel. Her attacks change depending on her Super’s Feng Shui Engine activation, interchanging her moves between AoE kicks and single-target ones. Even better; she can also summon a shadow clone and becomes stronger when allies die!

Street Fighter‘s most notorious villain, M. Bison stays true to that by being extraordinarily powerful, applying Weaken to his enemies and hitting hard as a truck.

Summer Elena

Trendy Cammy

Trendy Dhalsim

Trendy Dhalsim is a master manipulator of the Thunder and Flame elements. He can summon lightning to strike multiple foes, apply Shock to them, create a flaming barrier around himself to counter-attack enemies using Flame damage, and even Burn the unlucky ones.

Although sharing similar mechanics to the normal Guile, Trendy Guile uses the resource, Sonic Saber, instead. It’s consumed to execute extra attacks for some of his combos, inflict Shock or Armor Break, and make his moves way more potent.
Vega

The perfect assassin, Vega is a nightmarish fighter to go up against (great for you!). His playing style mainly pertains to the foe’s lost HP, meaning his combos become even more terrifying when they’re closer to a knockout (KO).
If that wasn’t enough, his Bleed and Sublime Bleed debuffs also add to this, making him an amazing addition to any team comps.
Vergil

Acquired from the Devil May Cry collab, Vergil is a phenomenal fighter. His basic combos are already cool and fierce, but they’re actually just ways for him to collect stacks of Demon Energy.
Once at 100 stacks, that’s when he truly shines; Vergil transforms into his devilish Majin Form, changing all his combos into more destructive ones, all while being immortal!
Witch Juri

Witch Juri is another near-immortal fighter on the game’s roster. Essentially, she has two different modes; her normal self before taking lethal damage, and her Bloody Wings – Feng Shui Engine form that triggers upon death.
Both stages offer Life steal capabilities, but her transformed version increases its effects, alongside other stats, including quicker Super Combo refill!
Zangief

Zangief is the true epitome of an impenetrable wall. He’s legitimately hard to take down thanks to his assortment of Super Armor, elemental resistances to Flame, Thunder, and Soul damages, and an HP-restoring C2 attack.
Tier 2: Master

Tier 2 is reserved for exceptional martial artists who’ve proven to be dependable and steadfast when called upon, even against tougher and scarier opponents.

The standard Cammy is held in high regard. Her kicks register insane damages and can cumulatively create Defense Breaks on enemies. She’s incredible at helping allies defeat Bosses.
Chun-Li

Just like Cammy, Chun-Li savagely beats down her opponents through the sheer force of her kicks. However, her overall kit specializes in raw damage and faster Super Combo refill, especially when paired with an Armor-Breaking team member.
Combat Guile

Combat Guile is an emphatic cleanser who helps remove enemy buffs consistently. This involves his Super Combo and C2, with his other skills leveraging on the cleanses to inflict Shock and even more damage.
Dante

It’s hard to fit all of Dante’s various moves into Street Fighter: Duel, so his in-game gimmick is reliant on his Dodge and Speed stats instead. It takes some comprehensive planning to get him to his full potential, but when done right, he’ll be fighting in his Majin Form to execute loads of powerful attacks.
Downside: his C1 transformation eats a huge chunk of his HP, and his demon form restricts him from using his other combos. These limit him from being higher on this list.
Decapre

If you’re missing an intimidating finisher, Decapre could be the ideal fit for your team. She’s very effective at taking out enemies at low HP, with her Super Combo and C1 triggering her special Execute move to try KO-ing them immediately.
E. Honda

E. Honda is among the few Tanks available in the game, and his unique ability is Desperation which makes him even more resistant to attacks at low HP.
His attacks are also quite strong, with his C1 able to stun targets while his C3 conjures a Bullet Wall to block ranged attacks. Unfortunately, he can also be self-stunned by his own C1, so be wary of it.
El Fuerte

El Fuerte might not look like it, but he’s a dangerous fighter capable of debuffing multiple foes with Bleed, Stun, and Armor Break. These three effects debilitate foes significantly, letting you clear different in-game stages effortlessly.
Evil Ryu

Evil Ryu is another scary combatant whose Satsui no Iki aura stacks consume allies’ HP in exchange for more attack damage. While this doesn’t become a concern during easier fights, it becomes a balancing act in the latter stages and PvP.
That being said, partnering him with a dominant healer and a promising debuffer will guarantee a world of hurt for opposing teams.
Fashion Sakura

Fashion Sakura isn’t just cute; her fighting abilities sustain her for longer during combat, giving her a pseudo-tank role. When all her skills are unlocked and enhanced, she can heal others as well, all while harming enemies further via her Dazzle effect.
Fei Long

Fei Long is a magnificent Flame-element fighter who supplements the attacks of other characters of the same faction, meaning he jives extremely well with combatants dealing Flame damage or Burn effects.
His use does diminish slightly if a Flame-faction fighter doesn’t participate in a Super Combo chain, so he’s mostly a case-by-case unit. When the circumstances are ideal, though, he can become a no-brainer inclusion.
Fire Adon

Able to summon a Wall of Fire that continuously harms foes with chances to Burn, Fire Adon can exterminate multiple opponents at once thanks to his array of AoE moves.
He’s all about Flame attacks, meaning he’ll do wonders against Wind-based opposing teams.
Gen

Despite his old age, Gen is a proper martial artist. He changes combat style every time his C2 activates, with his Mantis Style aligning him to the Wind faction, while his Crane Style makes him a Flame fighter.
His passive summons a mirror image of himself that attacks too, essentially making him a two-man pair. With his attacks already doing serious damage, he is as nightmarish as Street Fighter characters come.
Jonin Ibuki

Jonin Ibuki is a wild card, but her unpredictability usually comes clutch when you least expect it. Ideally, as an assassin, she should be protected from most hits while she deals her own, proccing an effect between Rin (Damage Reduction), Pyo (Healing Received), To (Crit Damage), and Sha (Damage).
It’s difficult to permanently place her on a dedicated lineup, but she acts as a trump card if you have a slot.
Mad Ryu

As his name implies, Mad Ryu is just pure rage and chaos. His attacks are tremendously powerful, with multiple consecutive chances to trigger combo skills back-to-back (some even ignoring a percentage of enemies’ Defense).
Still, all his abilities eat a portion of his HP, making him a risky pick.
Mayor Cody

If you’re going up against an opposing Tank or front-row Boss, Mayor Cody’s distinct Duel effect lets him deal huge damages to them, giving him priority when necessary.
On the flip side, he hits softer against non-Dueling targets, but that’s where his Flame AoE attacks come into play, inflicting Burns for allies to take advantage of.
Mummy Dhalsim

Mummy Dhalsim is a ghastly entity whose expertise revolves around Toxic-based attacks and the Poison status. Although he doesn’t nuke enemies immediately, he works amazingly against high-HP foes with strong Defense.
Nero

Nero is an intelligent counter-attacker whose primary role as a Tank relies heavily on his Parry Rate. When generating sufficient stacks of Demon Power, extra attacks will accompany his normal ones, besides returning hits upon a successful parry, and briefly transforming into his Majin Form to create new Super Combos.
Pharaoh Sagat

Pharaoh Sagat is a sustained fighter, collecting the souls of defeated combatants (regardless of friend or foe) to conjure another copy of himself into battle. If no souls are collected, he is healed instead, and every overheal bolsters his Attack and Crit Damage respectively.
His kit also applies Snake Venom on enemies, refilling the Super Combo Gauge whenever they’re attacked.
Poison

Poison’s name is a facade to her real abilities; punishing attackers with Shock-infused strikes. Interestingly, she does more Crit Damage to male foes while applying increased Pressure to female combatants.
Don’t underestimate her Thunder-based attacks, though, because they really do pack a punch.
Rose

Rose’s mechanic is also a bit unpredictable, influenced by the acquisition of tarot cards that boast different effects. Her combos include applying Weaken to enemies, party-wide heals, and sharing her Super Combo’s tarot card bonuses with allies.
Sagat

Sagat is a monster who is too stubborn to get KO-ed. All his combos do massive amounts of damage to enemies, but his Imperator status effect is what truly makes him a beast; he gets Super Armor, increased Damage Resistance, and even recovers HP by a lot once the status dissipates.
Street Poison

Street Poison is a splendid Support who helps heal the entire party (Love Mark) while also confusing enemies to attack each other via her Charm effect. She deals respectable amounts of damage too, complementing many team strategies.
Summer Ibuki

Even though Summer Ibuki ditches her usual ninja outfit to enjoy a dip under the sun, she’s still as deadly as ever. Her new combo kit focuses on boosting her Speed as much as possible, promoting her damage in the process.
Her C1 and C2 are actually triggered simultaneously with other allies’ C1 and C2 in the combo chain respectively, making her an indispensable member of a DPS-heavy party.
Summer Yang

In Street Fighter: Duel, there aren’t many characters who can conjure shields to protect allies. Fortunately, Summer Yang is a fabulous combatant who can do just that.
Additionally, he creates Defense Breaks to single targets as well, apart from healing everyone’s HP by a small amount.
Tier 3: Prodigy

Despite their years of training and experience, Tier 3 fighters are still far behind their superior counterparts in Tier 1 and Tier 2. However, when geared properly and strategically used, they can still help you beat much of the game’s content.

If you need another shield-generating character, Abel is a competent choice. His shields mitigate all attacks completely, up to two hits.
His combos add buffs to his defensive capabilities as well, like Defense Bonus and Dodge Up.
Adon

Adon is a pro at 1v1 engagements, inflicting multiple Bleed effects, and his exclusive debuff, Hatred Mark. Although he lacks AoE expertise, his attacks are quite fearsome.
Charming Dudley

Charming Dudley’s fighting style is wholly reliant on his Black Rose Mark that he imprints onto his direct opponent. This mark lets him steal the target’s HP heals, all while adding bonuses to his combos against them.
Cody

While not a fantastic fighter by himself, Cody is a great team member who pulls a back-row opponent towards him, getting fragile Assassins or Supports up close for the whole team to pummel.
His C1 reduces an enemy’s Accuracy and Dodge too, which are particularly useful against specific foes and Bosses.
Dee Jay

Dee Jay is basically a brawler disguised as a Tank. His combos deal loads of damage to a melee opponent, besides either dispelling a buff or inducing Stun.
Regardless, he does protect himself and a low-HP ally by way of his Dancing Shield which triggers after executing a combo, slightly justifying his role.
Dudley

The classy Dudley is formidable, pulverizing foes using his unstoppable jabs and hooks. His overall kit prioritizes Dodge (C3) and counter-attacks (passive), which are usually more preferred than his Stun via C1.
Elena

Standard Elena is a respectable healer and buffer on any team. Although her DPS is severely lacking, her persistent heals, Attack Up buff, and Damage Reduction effect work in tandem with nearly any type of team synergy.
Guy

As an Assassin-class fighter, Guy’s kit centralizes on eliminating specific targets during combat, primarily those at the rear. While his attacks are beefy, his combos normally have requirements for them to be effective, such as his C2’s Combo Chain damage increase not working if he’s in the Tag position.
Hugo

Hugo is a real hurdle to overcome when he’s built to the max. All his skills generate Potato Marks that improve his HP heals, boosting his own Super Combo and C2 heals while supplementing allies’ heals on him too. On top of those, his Super Combo even creates a chunky shield protecting him!
Ken

Although he isn’t ranked as highly as many others in the game, Ken is still viable for many higher-level engagements. His Super Combo can Burn foes, which in turn improves his C1’s Crit Rate as well. Not to forget, his passive also deals a damage-over-time (DoT) Flame effect.
Makoto

Makoto is a steadfast martial artist whose combos generate Qi Focus (Damage) and Qi Flow (Defense). This basically makes her a competitive fighter in prolonged battles, especially against bulky adversaries.
Rufus

Generally, Rufus benefits the entire party because of his Attack and Defense passives. That being said, his combos are niche to combat Parry-enhanced foes, with an added chance to Stun.
Yang

Yang’s a direct Armor Break specialist, delivering blows that render enemies’ Defense useless. Still, he works best when he is deployed with Yun into combat.
Yun

Yun’s combos work similarly to Yang’s except for slight nuances. Also creating Armor Breaks on foes, his attacks improve by having Yang partake in battles by his side.
Tier 4: Grunt

The weakest of the bunch, fighters in Tier 4 aren’t normally used unless for experimentation or other purposes. You can still use them if you like their designs or are a fan of them from other Street Fighter media, but they’re still considered fairly useless in this game (especially for late-game modes).

With his obnoxious looks and demeanor, it’s no wonder Dan excels in Taunting enemies into attacking him instead of his allies. This takes the heat off your priority units, but he isn’t as mighty as he seems, so keep that in mind.
Hakan

Throughout the early stages, Hakan is a trustworthy Tank who’s able to hold back attackers thanks to his Oiled status. However, it’s a double-edged sword wherein enemies’ Flame damage ignites him, dealing a small AoE damage to everyone nearby (including friendlies).
Ibuki

Ibuki is the stereotypical ninja who prefers non-direct attacks, inflicting stacks of Bleed to enemies. Unfortunately, not much else is offered by her kit, unlike her variants.
Rolento

Rolento is quite useful for the beginning stages of the game; his Silences, Parry-and-Dodge nullifications, and bonus buffs upon an enemy KO are extremely handy before you start recruiting rarer units onto your roster.
Ryu

The fan-favorite protagonist, Ryu, is a bit underwhelming in Street Fighter: Duel, but that’s probably where his different versions fill in. For this one, he still offers dependable Super Combo damage and a chance to Shock (C1), besides counter-attacks after parrying.
Sakura

Sakura is a noteworthy healer who actively replenishes the HP of individual allies with the lowest health. Based on her combo being activated, she also helps dispel Burn and applies Defense Up.
T. Hawk
