Weapons Tier List

As we slay monsters, they drop loot, which comprises parts of their bodies. With these materials, we can craft new equipment or upgrade existing ones to bolster our hunter’s arsenal and face more formidable challenges.

There are five weapons in Monster Hunter Now: Sword & Shield, Great Sword, Light Bowgun, Long Sword, Hammer, and Bow. Each has its strengths and weaknesses. To know which ones are the best, we have compiled this list:

S Tier List

  • Hammer – Heavy and powerful. The hammer has the incredible advantage of approaching the enemy while charging up the next blow, making it an immensely potent weapon. It’s also the only weapon with blunt damage, essential for breaking some creatures’ parts.
  • Longsword – Resembling a katana, the longsword strikes swiftly and forcefully. The longsword becomes an incredible weapon for any hunter with its evasive maneuvers and jumping attacks.

A Tier List

  • Great Sword – Incredibly strong, the Great Sword is the weapon with the highest damage output. However, it’s a bit slow, and many of its attacks rely on charging while leaving us in a vulnerable stance.
  • Bow – Attacking from a distance provides a sense of security. The Bow still offers excellent damage, with attacks that pierce the enemy and cause several counts of damage in one go.

B Tier List

  • Sword & Shield – Our initial and most basic weapon. It’s fast and has a guard to protect us but lacks any pronounced features. Initially, it’s our only option, but it becomes secondary once we can craft new weapons.
  • Light Bowgun – The Light Bowgun isn’t bad. But if you’re looking for long-range combat, the Bow is better. Moreover, to optimize the light bowgun’s damage, you must get close to the enemy so that its spread shots hit all at once, somewhat defeating the purpose of playing with a long-range weapon.

Monster Hunter Now – Monsters’ Weaknesses

Although we’ve categorized each weapon into its tier list, it’s worth keeping an eye on the monsters’ weaknesses.

If you have a weapon type with an element corresponding to the enemy’s weakness, it might be worth using it against that monster. The damage increases significantly and makes your hunt easier.

Always be attentive to the best strategies, and don’t limit yourself to just one weapon. As the eclectic and wise hunter that you are, adapt to each hunt and triumph consistently.

Also, pay attention to the breakable parts of the monsters, as some can only be broken using a certain type of attack, such as blunt or slash.
