The game was developed by NetEase Games and published by Warner Bros. International Enterprises. It was first released in China in September 2021, but it became available for the rest of the world in June 2023 on the Play Store, App Store, and even PC.
In this article, we will discuss everything about Harry Potter: The Magic Awakens, starting with the basics of the spells and how you can compete for the title of Supreme Wizard, which means you are one of the best wizards in the world.

Once you are accepted, you need to sign that you have joined Hogwarts, where you can choose your in-game name. Now that you are ready, let’s start with the Harry Potter: Magic Awakened guide.
Getting Started

First off, when you start the game, you will need to create your own character. You can customize it as much as you want, starting with the gender, appearance, and your own house.

After creating your characters, you will be spawned in the wizard’s city to pick up your wand and owl before going to Hogwarts, where you will have to go to Hagrid by using the left side of the screen to move around and the right side of the screen to adjust your camera.

After picking your accessories, you will be able to battle those evil books, and to start with the battle’s concept, you have to use your spells to defeat your opponents and those spells use MP, which generates over time.
Also, there are some cards that would help you regenerate MP faster and some other cards would cost 0 MP, which will be discussed in the spells section.

Beside your spells and the cards that support you, there are the moving cards that are shown as steps. You have limited moves in each battle, so use them wisely.
A moving card will be used in 2 situations: either you move to a location, and once you have reached it, that means that you have consumed a card, or you move around 3 times without stopping, which you might need when kitting a monster.

Once you have understood the basics of moving and casting spells you are ready to take off for Hogwarts, where you will meet the sorting hat, and unlike in the movie, you are free to choose any house you would like to join.

Once you have moved into your room in the house, you can invite roommates and get access to multiple things.
Let’s start by saying that you will get access to the Knapsack, where you can find Info, New Look Mirror, where you can change your appearance anytime you want to, Potions where you can use them or even brew them, Camera to take pictures of your favorite moments or even fireworks.
Spells

Spells are the main aspect of battling monsters, exploring the forest, finishing missions, or even duelling other players. Spells have a variety of effects, starting from summoning creatures to help you or heal you, using spells to damage your enemies, or even using spells that would slow down or counter your enemies.

You only have 4 cards that are shown in your hand that can be instantly cast. Once you hit the required MP, the next card will be shown on the edge as the 5th card. Once you use one of the active cards, the next card will get into your playable cards.

After finishing each battle, you will get a summary of it and extra rewards that will be discussed in the rewarding system section.

Keeping an eye on your deck is the main key to winning your battles. On the right side, there will be an icon called “Charms” this will take you to your deck, where you can add or remove cards, level them up, and configure them.

As you progress in the game, you will learn new spells and gain new cards that you can use in battle.
Harry Potter: Magic Awakened cards are divided into 4 categories which are common, rare, epic, and legendary. Each has its own powerful stats, you can beat someone with a full legendary deck with your full common deck, it’s about how you synchronize your cards and how you can play them.
Remember that you can add up to 8 cards per active deck, 3 Companion cards, and an echo, which will be discussed later, so choose them wisely and make the best combo you can use.

Winning duels and finishing missions will grant you a silver or gold key, which can be used to unlock either the basic study book or the advanced study book.
Each book requires a key to unlock, the silver study one has a lower chance of getting an epic or higher-tier cards, while the advanced study has a higher rate of getting higher-tier cards.

Also, don’t forget about your spellbook level, as it’s an indicator of your strength, the higher the level, the stronger you are, as it increases your attributes.
Getting higher levels requires you to level up more cards, so don’t worry if you get many duplicates of a card, as this will help you level up many cards to get higher levels.
Some missions will require a certain spellbook level, so make sure to always upgrade it so that you can win more matches and finish more quests.
Dueling

After you have set up your powerful deck and know the basics, you will be able to go to the duelling club where you can challenge other witches and wizards to real-time duels.
The duelling club has 2 partitions, the solo duels, which have a practice mode and ranked duels, where you challenge 1 player alone for more ranked points.
And the duo duels, where you can bring up your friend or match with a random player to play a 2v2 real-time battle, also have practice and ranked modes.

Duelling doesn’t only give you rewards as you win more games, but the ranked mode is a great way to show off your skill and to get those titles that show your rank over your region or over the whole world.
Each win grants you a duel score, and the more you get, the higher the tiers you will reach starting with invoice, silver, gold, platinum, and so on until you reach the grand master tier, where you can be invited to compete against players worldwide for a place on the world leaderboard.
And to make it fair each tier has a maximum level of cards so if one of the duelists is equipped with a higher level, it will be reduced to the maximum level of the current tier.

Once you unlock the shop, you will have access to a variety of things that you can purchase with multiple resources such as gold, gems, and jewels.

Also, you will have a free item daily that you can purchase as a great gift from there. The daily items change each 24 hours, so keep an eye on the shop so that you don’t miss out on something that you have been waiting for.
You can get more gold coins by participating in duels daily and finishing daily tasks, and for gems, you can get them by joining club events and the forbidden forest.

And for the jewels you can only get them by making in-game purchases, but it’s worth it in case you want to get better items, and appearance the jewels are your shortcut.

Forbidden Forest

The Forbidden Forest is a dangerous and mysterious place that is located on the outskirts of Hogwarts. It is the place where dangerous creatures such as trolls, werewolves, and centaurs live.
Although students are strictly forbidden from entering the forest, some brave witches and wizards went inside to search for adventure and knowledge.
Before entering the forbidden forest, make sure that you came prepared with your strongest deck, wand, potions, and everything else that would allow you to take out those creatures.

Forbidden Forest has 2 modes which are the solo exploration and team exploration. Your mission is to beat each level.

Each level of the forbidden forest has 3 rounds that you must pass as a team, and quitting will reset your progress. At each round, you will have to pick one of 3 challenges, and then you can meet the final boss.
Remember that it gets harder each time you win a level, so always make sure that you upgrade your stuff so that you can win as much as you can.

And to make sure that you are getting rewards even if you are busy and offline, meet the Flying Ford Angelia it might look like an old car, but it can explore the forbidden forest and collect materials scattered across it, which will save you tons of rewards when you get back to it.
Always remember that the car will only explore as high as the tier you unlocked, and it has a storage of 12-hour exploration, which increases as you increase in your tiers, so always make sure to go back from time to time to collect your rewards.
Echoes

Exploring the forbidden forest will give you access to echoes shards, which will be later used to level up your echoes.
Each player has got to use only 1 echo per deck, so make sure to pick the best echo that would fit in your deck and support your cards and your tactics.
Each echo also has to enhance a set of cards, it will have 2 available cards once you obtain it, and the more you level it up, the more cards will be unlocked.

Echoes have their own unique passive that will surely support you in the game, such as Dobby the Free Elf, who adds extra movement cards while you are in a battle, providing you with an apparition that can be activated after each movement to evade an enemy spell.
Socializing

Harry Potter is not just about fighting and dominating the wizard’s realm, but you can make tons of friends there as you can communicate with other people either by chatting or voice chatting.
Starting with the social club, where you get to join or create a club and invite people so that you can make a team that will help you in any mission that you need.
Also, you can talk to people from the same house, same team, or even the same server.

And besides fighting and casting spells, you can dance! Yes, you got that right. You can ask your partner to do a dance, or you can just walk up to the dancing room and ask random people to dance and eventually make new friends.
Dancing adds to your profile and it’s really easy all you have to do is hit the button to the beat of the music.

Once the circles overlap, click on it and you will make the move. Each song has stars that determine the difficulty of it, and the more you practice on a song and get higher scores such as S, SS, and SSS, you will unlock the new level of that song, which would be fun and also be a part of some missions.
