Dino Bash Travel Through Time Gameplay
Basics

Dinosaurs are in danger, and you are their only hope to save them from the cavemen who are attacking them again in Dino Bash.
The cavemen will always have new ideas to come up with to attack the huge dinosaur’s egg, which you have to protect by building up a team of different types of dinos.
You will be the leader who summons dinosaurs and uses different skills to protect that egg at all costs.
Let’s start with the Dino Bash basics.
Movement
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Here is the leader. I mean, you can only move to the left and right to explore each level and to take out the cavemen.
This huge egg is your base; you must protect it. If the cavemen reach it and destroy it, you lose the game.
Down there on the left hand, you will find all the dinosaurs you can use; each has a certain cost of apples that you generate through the course of the game, and once you destroy a barrier, you get some more additional apples and coins.
Apples

On each barrier, you have a limit of apples, which is found on the top left corner. The more barriers you destroy in a game, the higher the limit to summon many powerful dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs start with 5 apples for the small ones, and it goes higher for stronger dinosaurs, such as the T-Rex, which costs more than 70 apples.
Hero Attacks
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Returning to the main dinosaur in Dino Bash, which is the leader, you have 2 types of attacks: the ranged one and the melee one.
To use the melee attack, you must walk very close to the target. This can be very useful in case you want to take out a specific target, such as the healers that stand behind tank cavemen.
Keep in mind that some dinosaurs will be locked until you destroy barriers, so you can just skip the wave of the cavemen to go straight forward to the barrier but remember that your damage will be very low in that case.
Stars
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Some rounds will have huge caves before the last hole, where a dinosaur is locked in. You have to destroy them so that you can free the dinosaur and unlock it to use it.
Those holes are the end of each level; once you destroy the last barrier, the whole thing gets destroyed, and no more cavemen get out of it, and you go to the next level.
Remember that there are stars counters; the faster you finish the level, the more stars you get, which means more chests and more rewards in Dino Bash.
Chests
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Each chest will have some rewards, starting with gold coins, dinosaurs’ copies, equipment, and skill copies to upgrade.
The higher the chest tier, the more rewarding it is, so always try to aim for 3 stars to get as many rewards as possible for the best Dino Bash experience.
Dino Bash – Shots
Large Stone
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Dino Bash Travel Through Time is not only about summoning dinosaurs; as you progress through the game, you will unlock the shots.
They look more like meteors, each with its own unique effect, starting with the large stone that deals damage to any caveman it hits.
You can either drag it to shoot targets that are harder to reach or will deal more damage, such as the spearman, or you can just click on it to hit the closest target.
A large stone shot will only hit one target, dealing massive damage, so use it wisely.
Explosion
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Next, you will unlock Explosion in Dino Bash, which is an exploding meteor. It deals tons of damage to an area, so always use it when you find yourself having a lot of cavemen moving toward you.
Those shots have a cooldown, so don’t just waste the explosion on a single target unless you must.
As you go to higher levels of Dino Bash Travel Through Time, cavemen will get stronger, as we mentioned, so there will be a lot of groups that you must hit with the explosion to save time and save the egg.
Iceball
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Have you ever kissed a yeti? That’s what the Iceball meteor says, the iceball is a great way to prevent unnecessary damage and slow down huge cavemen.
It has lower damage than other shots, but it literally freezes the cavemen. You can shoot it at a single target to freeze it so that you can do some melee attacks without taking damage.
Spitty Barrel
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
This one is an uncommon shot; unlike any other shot that just deals damage or has an effect, this one is made not to be shot at the cavemen.
The Spitty Barrel can be shot in the backlines, summoning 3 Spitties to attack the cavemen from a range by your side.
This can always be used when you are running low on apples and you need additional reinforcement, or when there is a huge tank caveman, and you need some extra damage from a distance.
Fireball
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
What does the wood fear? Yes, it’s fire; that’s where the fireball takes place. As you go to higher levels, the cavemen will start building wooden armored vehicles so that they gain more armor.
The Fireball is able to burn those wooden armored cavemen; don’t waste this shot until there is something made out of wood you need to take out, reserve it, and use it right.
Of course, there are a lot of other shots that you will unlock throughout the game to help you take out the cavemen faster and in style
Dino Bash – Spells
Power Hit
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
The spells are a great support in Dino Bash Travel through Time, as each spell you use will have a different effect that will help you win the game.
Unlike the shots, spells don’t have a cooldown, but they can be picked up from the ground; randomly killing cavemen will drop random spells to use.
Starting with the Power Hit spell, which deals damage over an area, unlike the explosion meteor, you can’t aim at a group of cavemen; you need to go right in front of them to use it.
Blizzard
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
The next spell you will unlock is the Blizzard, which literally freezes everything. You can always use it when you are facing a huge number of cavemen.
The Blizzard will freeze all the cavemen on the screen, where you can use the melee attacks to take out healers or archers, or you can use the time to summon more dinosaurs and deal more damage.
Shield
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Then you will unlock the shield, which can only protect the hero. You can always use it when you feel like you want to turn your hero into a tank in the front line.
In Dino Bash, the shield can be a great way to use it when you are running low on apples and you want more time, or you want to protect your dinosaurs with your hero. The shield will prevent any damage the hero takes.
Heal
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Next is the heal spell, which is one of the strongest spells out there in terms of support. If your dinosaurs and heroes are running low on health, that’s where the heal spell takes place.
You can always use it to refill your tank’s health in case it takes a lot of damage.
Fire Spell
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
One of the most damaging spells in Dino Bash is the fire spell, which can be used to deal damage to a huge number of cavemen in a line.
This can be used either to deal a lot of damage or to take down wooden-armored cavemen, as it will burn their armor.
There are a lot more spells that can be unlocked through the game.
Dinosaurs
Snappy
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Snappy is the first dino you will unlock by default in Dino Bash, which is one of the lowest-cost dinos dealing melee damage, and it has really low health power.
The Snappy can always be used at the beginning of the rounds, as it requires only 5 apples. That would help you until you save up more apples to summon powerful dinosaurs.
Anky
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Next up there is Anky, the small tank, the small armored dino that has lots of health and that goes to the front to protect all other dinos behind it.
Lil’Spitty
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Remember the Spitty Barrel? Here is the Lil’Spitty, a small ranged dino that can best fit in the early game, as it only costs 8 apples and is ranged, so it will greatly help you take out the first wave of cavemen.
Raptor
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Then comes the Raptor, the solid damage-dealing melee dino, which is one of the strongest dinos out there dealing melee damage.
Protecting the Raptor with a tank dinosaur will allow it to deal massive amounts of damage.
Spittosaurus
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
It looks like the Lil’Spitty has been fed and turned into the huge Spittosaurus. This is a great way to take out huge cavemen that deal area damage, as the Spittosaurus deals massive damage by spitting balls from a safe distance.
Always use this dino when you are facing the area damage dealer cavemen.
Tricer
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
After Anky has grown up, you will be unlocking the Tricer, which is a huge tank that goes to the front, protecting everyone behind it.
You can either summon it and then summon multiple small dinos, such as the Lil’Spitty, or you can stand behind it yourself, dealing ranged damage.
T-Rex
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Moving to the well-known huge dino, the T-Rex, which will always be available to summon in late game.
The T-Rex is a huge dino that deals tons of damage as it bites many cavemen at once.
Always summon at least 1 of them in the late game so that you can take out the last wave, which is most likely the hardest one of them.
Para the Healer
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Don’t worry, not only the cavemen can heal, but you can also summon Para the Healer, which heals both the hero and all the other dinos too.
Keep in mind that this dinosaur has a range of healing abilities, so if you go far away from it, you won’t be healed as a hero. Always go back to it so that you can be healed.
Fire Deino
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
If you ever face a wooden-armored caveman, summon the Fire Deino, which deals massive fire damage to targets, especially the wooden cavemen, as it burns their wood.
Dino Bash – Tips and Tricks
Upgrade
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Always upgrade your hero, dinos, and shots in Dino Bash. You have three things to upgrade regarding the hero: its health, melee damage, and ranged damage, each of which would cost a certain amount of gold.
Moving to the Dinos and upgrading them would increase their damage once you have enough copies, which you can get from the chests you get, or you can even buy copies from the shop for gold coins.
Last but not least are the shots, which greatly increase the damage when upgraded to higher levels; always upgrade the one that you most use, or upgrade all of them if you have enough coins.
Select Spells
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Don’t forget to choose available spells before you go into the game if you are having trouble getting 3 stars, as the spells will greatly increase the chance of getting them.
You can select up to 3 spells to start with, so choose them wisely based on the level you are playing.
3 Stars
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Always aim for the 3 stars, as it will make you get more rewards in Dino Bash, and you can only unlock new time zones by having enough stars.
Don’t worry if you didn’t get 3 stars on each level, as you can always come back when you have upgraded your team to get the 3 stars.
Equipment
Photo: pokoko Studio UG
Chests would probably drop some cool equipment for your dinos, so don’t forget to use them as each dino has specific equipment with different rarities.
