As with many new mobile games, players are always eager to find the best heroes they can get to breeze through stages effortlessly. We know most free-to-play games with a gacha system rely heavily on your luck, especially if you aim for those high-grade rarity heroes.

All the Heroes Classes and Factions

Before we start, there’s some explaining to do. In Watcher of Realms, heroes can have up to two categories: class and factions. Every hero has a class, but not all are part of a faction.
The game has five classes: Defender, Fighter, Marksman, Mage, and Healer.
Each class has its purpose. Fighters and Defenders are meele heroes that can only be placed in the ground. Fighter causes fast and heavy damage, while Defenders focuses on, well, defending and protecting your core crystal.
Marksman and Mage stay on the topside, firing away at enemies with their powerful, precise, and sometimes area-of-effect skills. A must-have for every player out there.

Healers are essential but circumstantial. They can heal and buff allied heroes; some can also damage enemies. In some Stages, there may not be any aggressive enemies, so healers can remain on the sidelines during those times.
And then there are Factions. Watcher of Realms has eight factions as of now. Some heroes can be a part of one or two factions, and if they do, they receive bonuses when dispatched together with a Lord, a hero with a crown upon their faction.
Each Lord has some skills that empower every other hero of the same faction, increasing your squad’s overall power. While building an army of heroes of the same faction is a powerful and straightforward strategy, it’s pretty hard since it relies on your sheer luck to draw them all – or wallet size.

With that said, we will list heroes in this Ultimate Tier List based on their solo attributes rather than their faction effect. To do so, we separated them into Tiers, Classes, and Rarity.
Watcher Of Realms – Ultimate Tier List

In-game, there’s a review tooltip where you can see how each hero rates between themselves and player ratings. The rating can go from 0 to 5.0. We will classify their Tier according to an average of these ratings:
- Tier S = 4.5 – 5.0 rating.
- Tier A = 4.0 – 4.5 rating.
- Tier B = 3.5 – 4.0 rating.
- Tier C = 3.0 – 3.5 rating.
- Tier D = Below 3.0 rating.
We won’t include 1 and 2-star heroes since they’re used as cannon fodder in hero fusion or the increase a hero’s star level. Also, we will give more weight to the rating if the hero excels in their primordial role. Classifying a melee for their low score on the Anti-Air DPS arena feels like judgemental unfairness.
Watcher Of Realms – Tier S Heroes

Tier S heroes are the best in their role and other occasions, such as raids and PvP. You should always be striving for them. However, it’s worth noting that some may be subpar on a specific stage, so always check their in-game ratings.

Most Watcher of Realms heroes are classified as Tier A, which is good if you’re a free-to-play player, given that there are a lot of 4- and 3-Star heroes with this rating, and it’s somewhat manageable to gather them.

Tier B Heroes are very situational. While their overall rating may be lower than S and A-tier heroes, they can be employed in specific scenarios to empower your defensive measures. However, since there are a lot of 3-Star heroes in this tier, they will probably be used as materials for fusion heroes.

These heroes are not what you’re looking for. It’s better to avoid them and focus on better ones. Save some particular scenarios where you’re missing a specific-class hero in your frontline, they won’t be helpful. However, they can still offer a slight glimmer of hope in one or another game mode.

It’s weird to see so many 4-star rarity heroes ranking so low. You can blatantly ignore them. Look for other uses like hero fusion or dismissing because that’s the only thing they’re suitable for. No offense, heroes.

Like most gacha games, Watcher of Realms offers the player two currencies: gold and diamonds. Diamond is the premium currency employed to summon new heroes. Rare, Legendary, and Ancient Summoning Crystal items are also used in place of diamonds.
Summoning is the most basic and well-known method of getting new heroes, but you have to rely on your luck. Completing daily quests give you 30 diamonds, weekly quests reward you with one Rare Summoning Crystal, while monthly quests grant five Rare Summoning Crystal.

If you play every day, you’ll get a week’s worth of 210 diamonds and one Rare Summoning Crystal. Amp it up to a month, and you’ll earn up to 900 diamonds, 4 Rare Summoning Crystals per week, plus the 5 from the monthly quests. Overall, if you play and only complete these regular quests, you’ll attain an average of 20 monthly summons.
However, Watcher of Realms also offers Challenge Quests that provide different rewards and events, another trove of treasures that sometimes include heroes. All that to say, you don’t need to spend a penny to form your battalion of heroes, but you’ll need more patience. After all, time is money.
A Hero for Each Game Mode

Watcher of Realms offers several game modes for players. There is the campaign, the traditional gameplay where we face NPC-controlled monsters in a small stage – to be honest, every enemy we face is NPC-controlled. Then, we have Raids, which can vary from Promotion, EXP, and Gear raids.
There’s also PVP, Tide, Arena, Trials, and anything they may add in the future. Every stage has its own peculiarity. Some stages only let you drop melee heroes, while others require ranged heroes. So even though some Tier S heroes are one-size-fits-all, you’ll still need the aid of other classes.

For instance, a Defender may be the MVP when facing the Guild Boss dragon, but he may underperform if facing flying enemies. Similarly, a healer can be useless in a stage where the enemy’s damage is meager but crucial when there is a toxic layer surrounding all the heroes we allocate in battle.
What we’re saying is that your primary team might be unable to tackle every objective the game modes offer. It’s always good to analyze, adapt, and configure your strategy for that specific stage.
Sometimes you’ll fail and realize that your Tier S hero is doing less damage than a Tier B, and that’s okay. Take a step back, redo your solution, and try again. Just don’t you dare to give up, leader.
Fuse Unused Heroes

Whenever you get a low-rating hero and are thinking of harnessing it as a level-up material for your bigger and stronger heroes, the game may show you a prompt that the hero is suitable for a fusion. Heed its warning!
You can go to the Hero Summon screen and find the Hero Fusion tab. There, the game will offer you a cast of high-quality heroes that can be swapped by fusing four lower-quality heroes. However, check our rating table above before doing the blood transaction.

Sometimes you may be sacrificing a lower-quality hero with a higher rating than the high-quality fusion hero you aim for. More stars don’t automatically mean better. Be careful when you’re disposing of a hero.
Dismissing Heroes
Since we touched the subject, you can also dismiss heroes in exchange for currencies. 1-star and 2-star heroes can be dismissed for coins, meaning we’re selling them as trading goods while disregarding their feelings.

3-star heroes are dismissed for 30 crystals, which can be pretty interesting if you want to recycle them – your inventory can hold up to 200 heroes at first. Then you can use these crystals while praying to Lady Luck to give you an S-tier ranking hero.
4-star and 5-star heroes hand you Epic and Legendary Awakening Tokens, respectively. These tokens are a currency used to buy items in the Awakening Shop. The shop offers several things that can awaken a specific hero, skill crystals, and even Ancient Summoning Crystals. It refreshes its offers weekly.

Conclusion
Watcher of Realms is a fresh take on a consolidated genre like tower defense. Managing heroes, evolving them, and creating a synergistic faction in pursuit of victory is incredibly enjoyable and challenging. Unlike other games, Watcher of Realms relies heavily on the player’s gameplay and strategy rather than just their sheer luck.
