Tricky Doors Walkthrough Level 1

With 20 different levels, called Episodes, Tricky Doors offers plenty of puzzles to escape room lovers. As with any other escape room game, players must find clues, solve puzzles, collect items, and escape the location. 

However, what makes Tricky Doors different is the premise. 

Every episode gets trickier and trickier as the game transports players to magical realms, historical locations, and even other planets. 

Using this Tricky Doors walkthrough level 1 guide, you can escape the Magic World and get an idea of the type of puzzles you can expect in the next levels. So, let’s escape!

Tricky Doors Level 1: Magic World Overview

The first level/episode of Tricky Doors is titled “Magic World.”

While reading a book about a magical world and doodling around the page borders, you get transported to the same magical world. 

In the Tricky Doors Magic World, you’ll switch between locations, collecting and crafting necessary items. Here’s a step-by-step walkthrough of what to do and how to do it.

The Room

As you hit “Play” on the Magic World, you’ll get transported to a room with a fireplace. You’ll also see a wooden chest, a few cupboards, a table, and some dusty walls.

The objective here is to find FOUR keys to open the trap door while collecting other important items.

We’ll collect the keys first and then look for other collectibles.

The first key, called the key with balls, is sitting right by the wooden chest. Tap on the chest and then tap on the key to pick it up. 

Beside the wooden chest is a broom. Pick it up and clean the cobwebs to reveal the simple key. 

Now, tap on the fireplace to zoom in and see the figured key. Tap on the key to add it to your inventory.

The fourth key is on the table under the window. Zoom in on the table and tap on a piece of paper placed in the bottom-right corner of the table. On the paper is a clue about how to get out of the Magic World. We’ll get to that later.

For now, zoom out of the paper and pick up the fourth key, called the key with monograms. And while you’re here, pick up the straw doll as well. You’ll need it later on.

With the FOUR keys in your grasp, it’s time to collect the other items before moving on to the next location. 

So, get back to the room and pick up the following items.

Pick the white candle and the wooden handle from the floor of the room.

Now, click on the golden mask hanging above the wooden chest and collect the ruby from the mask’s right eye. 

Back out from the mask and tap on the fireplace chimney. Pick up the painting as well as the dagger.

The painting is a potion recipe, and the dagger is a ritual knife. Both items are needed for the later stages of Magic World.

The last thing to collect is a rope. You’ll see some herbs hanging on a rope in the top-left corner. Use the ritual knife to cut that rope and add it to your inventory.

Now’s the time to get out of the room and explore the magic world a bit more.

Tap on the trap door in the middle of the floor and put in the FOUR keys you collected earlier.

When the door opens, tap on the ladder to get out of the room.

Once outside, you’ll see that the room you were in is, in fact, a treehouse situated in a dark, mythical forest. 

Tricky Doors – The Forest

Once outside, we’ll do some crafting and a lot of collecting. We’re collecting the ingredients for the potion recipe we found earlier inside the treehouse room. Don’t miss anything, or you won’t get to complete Tricky Doors Level 1.

Right in the middle of the screen, you’ll see some wood logs. Tap on them to zoom in. An axe blade is stuck inside the stump. Pick it up and add it to your inventory. 

You’ll see a few feathers there as well. Pick them up. 

Next, we’ll craft an axe.

Stay at the wooden stump and select the axe blade and the handle we picked up from the room. Then, tap on the ritual knife to shave the wooden handle so the axe blade can fit.

You’ll now have an axe in your inventory. Chop up the logs you see to get firewood.

You’ll need some red berries, too. Tap on the berry bushes twice to add some to your inventory. Don’t pick up too much, though. They’re poisonous.

Zoom out again. You’ll see a broken and dry birch bark on the left side of the screen. Cut it off using the ritual knife and put it in your inventory.

Now, we’ll venture forward into the forest. 

Tap on the giant torch you see in the background. We’re picking up FOUR items from this screen- an arrow, a handle, an empty cauldron, and some mushrooms. I’ve pointed them out in the image below.

To pick up mushrooms, you’ll need to equip the ritual knife and then tap on the mushrooms.

Checkpoint: See if you have feathers, an axe, firewood, red berries, birch bark, an arrow, a handle, an empty cauldron, and mushrooms in your inventory. If any item is missing, go back and get it before you move ahead.

Now’s time for the first mini-game of the Tricky Doors Episode 1.

In the top-right corner of the main outside screen, you’ll see FOUR owls. Tap on each owl one by one. Their eyes will light up. Remember the color sequence of their eyes. 

This sequence is the code to unlock the farthest part of the forest.

Here’s the eye color sequence: Red|Red, Yellow|Yellow, Red|Yellow, Yellow|Red. Some players may have a different sequence, so it’s good to check. 

Now, head back to the giant torch part of the forest and tap on the owl statue at the right side of the screen. The left eye socket of the owl statue is empty. Put in the ruby we picked up from the golden mask in the treehouse room. 

Tap the sequence code by tapping on the red and yellow eyes of the owl.

If you input the right sequence, a small compartment will open from the statue, revealing a crystal. Tap on it to add to your inventory.

If no compartment opens, hit “Reset” and try again.

With the crystal in the bag, we need to get closer to the giant torch. To do that, equip your axe and cut down the half-eroded tree on the left side of your screen. 

The tree falls and acts as a bridge over the river. Cross over and get close to the giant torch to light up the candle and add a burning candle to your inventory. Also, burn the straw doll to get the smoking doll.

We have to use these two things to acquire other important items. 

Head back to the owl statue screen and tap on the long grass. You’ll see a snake. Use the smoking doll to scare away the snake. As the snake slithers away, you’ll see a red gem. Pick it up.

Now, head to the main outside screen and tap on the well in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Equip the handle and the empty cauldron on the well. Tap on the handle again to lower the cauldron into the well to draw water and recover another key.

Tricky Doors – Back To The Room

With most of the ingredients ready, it’s time to head back to the treehouse room. 

Tap on the wooden chest twice to uncover the second mini-game of the Magic World and put in the red gem to start it.

To complete this mini-game, players must get the green gem to the green part of the puzzle and the red gem to the red part. The obstacles only move in one direction while the gems can move in every direction. 

Here’s what the completed puzzle looks like.

Once the chest opens, you’ll see some random stuff. Pick up the net and the stick. Now, use the stick and the rope to create a bow. With the bow ready, tap on the arrow and attach the feathers to the arrow so it can be used.

Tricky Doors – Back To The Forest

With the bow and arrow ready, we’ll do some shooting and acquire another important item. 

Head back to the owl statue area. You’ll see an apple hanging on a tree. Use the bow and arrow to shoot down and acquire that apple.

Now time for some treasure hunting. 

Equip the net we got from the wooden chest and tap on the river twice to recover another wooden chest. The chest is covered in seaweed and can’t be opened. Use the ritual knife to cut the seaweed and free the wooden chest.

Keep the seaweed for later. And while you’re at it, use the ritual knife to cut and pick up the lily flower as well. 

Remember the key we recovered from the well, use that to unlock the recently recovered wooden chest.

Within the chest is a bottle. Keep that for later.

If you check the potion recipe we found in the room, you’ll see that we now have all the ingredients. Now’s the time for some potion-making. 

Tricky Doors – Back To The Room

Go back to the treehouse and zoom in to the left window. Put the crystal we found in the owl statue in the center of the window. As it starts to shine, zoom out and tap on the table.

Place the bottle on the bottle stand. The bottle will start glowing. If you look carefully, you’ll see a miniature world inside the bottle.

We have to enter that miniature world by shrinking. 

To do that, we must create a potion.

So, head to the fireplace, put in all the firewood, light it up using the burning candle, and place the cauldron of water on it. 

Now, open the recipe paper and click on all the ingredients one by one. The ingredients you have to put on the paper are berries, mushrooms, lily, and seaweed.

You’ll get a new ingredient of all the above mixed into one. Put that into the cauldron.

As the water changes color and turns into a gooey potion. Dip the apple into the potion to create a Magic Apple.

Time to shrink and enter the miniature world inside the bottle. 

Head to the table under the window, tap on the apple, and then tap on the bottle. You’ll shrink in size and end up inside the bottle.

Welcome to the Miniature World – Tricky Doors

Once inside the bottle, you’ll see a praying mantis right in front of you. To the right of the mantis, you’ll see a few leaves. Tap on them and it’ll reveal a drawing. Learn the patterns on the drawing for later.

Just to the left of the praying mantis are some cobwebs. We need the nymph stuck in them. Use the axe on these cobwebs. You’ll lose the axe blade and you’ll be left with the handle. 

We need a sharper tool. 

Head back to the praying mantis screen and you’ll see a dead white beetle laying on the floor.

Tap on its lower jawbone, causing it to break and fall. Attach the axe handle to the jawbone and use the rope from your bow to fasten the handle. Cut the rope using the ritual knife.

Now you have the sharp tool. 

This tool will cut the webs where we lost our axe blade. So, head back to the cobwebs, cut them down, and pick up the nymph. 

With the cobwebs and the nymph gone, players can access another area: the stone with rectangles on it. Tap on the lower rectangle to start the third mini-game of the Magic World.

In this game, you need to line the beetle spheres in the patterns shown on the top of the screen. 

The top row should replicate the left corner patterns and the bottom row should replicate the right corner patterns.

Here’s what it would look like solved.

Once solved, this will unlock the smaller rectangle where you’ll find another clue on how to get out of the Magic World. 

Along with the clue, there’s a golden spatula that you need to collect.

Now, head back to the praying mantis screen and tap on weird flowers with eyes in the bottom-right corner of the screen. 

Use the spatula to recover the bulb of one of the flowers.

Just one more thing and then we’ll leave the miniature world for good.

Use the nymph on the praying mantis to make it disappear and get a stamp.

Click the back button to exit the bottle and head straight back to the table under the window. Use the stamp on the magic book to open it and find the Ink Recipe, an Amulet, and another Key. 

Tricky Doors – Back To The Forest

Head to the giant torch. When you tap on it once, you’ll see that it looks like the painting we saw behind the leaves in the miniature world. Do you remember the sequence shown in the painting? If you don’t, don’t worry. Here it is.

Tap on the FOUR spheres around the torch in the pattern as shown in the image above. 

Hit the right sequence and the flame will go out.

Tap on the torch again, use the golden spatula to dig, and plant the bulb inside to grow the flower of insight.

Collect the flower and zoom out to the main forest screen.

Using the Amulet, open the bird’s cage. The bird is blind but it will get its sight back if you feed him the Flower of Insight. As soon as the bird gets his vision back, he’ll fly away for good.

In the cage, you’ll find a feather. That’s all we need- a blind bird’s feather.

Now, players have to create a Magic Ink to write in the Magic Book. So…

Tricky Doors – Back To The Room

Using the key, you have to open the overhead cupboard to the extreme left of the room. Within the cupboard are three bottles. Pick them up and head to the table under the window.

Re-enter the Miniature World.

We need to collect orchid juice, dew drops, and pollen from the Miniature World. 

Use the ritual knife to cut the big stem and collect the orchid juice in one of the bottles.

Then, tap on the bell-shaped white flowers to the right of the screen and collect their pollen using another bottle.

For the dew, use the big white flowers on the left side of the screen.

Now you have all the ingredients needed to create the Magic Ink. Follow the Magic Ink recipe to create the ink.

The problem is that the recipe is the most difficult puzzle of Tricky Doors Level 1: Magic World. So, if you’re having a hard time recreating the recipe, here’s a step-by-step guide:

• Zoom in to the scales and put the three ingredients on the shelf. 
• Put the 3 Weight and the 5 Cup on the right side of the weight and put the 8 Weight on the left side. Pour the red potion into the 5 Cup.
• Take everything off the scale. Put the 3 Weight on the left side and the filled 5 Cup on the left side. Put the 2 Cup with the 3 Weight and fill it with the dark green potion.
• Once again, take everything off of the scale. Now, put the filled 5 and 2 Cups on the right side and put the empty 7 Cup on the left side. Fill the 7 Cup with the pink potion. 
• Everything off the scales and place the 3 Weight and 4 Cup on the left side and the filled 7 Cup on the right side. Fill the 4 Cup with the light green potion.
• Finally, free the scale for the last time and put the empty 6 Cup on the left side. Place the filled 4 and 2 Cup on the right side. Fill the 6 Cup with the blue potion. 

Once you complete this exercise, the Magic Ink will be created automatically.

Add the ink to the inventory. You already have the blind bird’s feather. 

Now, you can finally escape the Magic World. 

Head to the table under the window, and use the Magic Ink and the blind bird’s feather to describe your home in the Magic Book.

As you write, the book will start to glow and open a magic portal. Tap on the portal to escape the Magic World and complete the first episode of Tricky Doors.
