Basic Gameplay Mechanics
In this section, we will go through the basics of Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt, which are in-game features and mechanics that you must learn and master first before delving deeper into the game.
Hero Recruitment
There are two types of Recruitment Banners in Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt where you can get new heroes—the Hero Recruit Banner and the Limited Recruitment Banner.

The Hero Recruit Banner allows you to recruit heroes up to the SR rarity in exchange for Diamonds or Hero Recruitment Scrolls. It stays on the Recruit page indefinitely, and has the following rates per rarity:

The Limited Recruitment Banner, on the other hand, allows you to recruit heroes up to the SSR rarity in exchange for Limited-Time Hero Recruitment Tickets. It only stays on the recruit page within a set timeframe and has the following rates per hero rarity:

There are five different hero classes in Inariel Legend:
- Tank: Specializes in taking enemy attacks head-on and typically has high HP and Tenacity stats.
- Vanguard: Specializes in both dealing damage and taking damage to an extent. They typically have balanced HP, Tenacity, and Attack stats.
- Rogue: Specializes in dealing high single-target damage and typically has high Attack and Attack Speed.
- Mage: Specializes in dealing AoE damage and typically has a high Attack stat with multi-target Ultimate Skills.
- Support: Specializes in boosting the performance of your other heroes. They tend to have balanced stats across the board and have healing, buff, or debuff-type Ultimate and Active Skills.

You can set your formation at the beginning of every battle, and the number of heroes you can deploy depends on what game mode you’re playing.
TIP: Deploying your Tanks and Vanguards in the frontline and Mages, Rogues, and Supports in the backline is the best way to set up your formations—with a few exceptions depending on an individual hero’s stats and skills.
Combat System
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
The combat system in Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt is pretty straightforward. Your heroes use normal attacks automatically, but you can either:
Move: Done by tapping a hero and swiping towards the location you want them to go. Useful for redirecting or evading your enemies’ attacks.
Cast An Ultimate Skill: Done by clicking on a hero’s portrait on the lower-right side of the screen, then swiping toward the enemies or allies you want to target depending on what type of Ultimate Skill a hero has.
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Fast Forward: Increases the game speed, making battles take less time to finish. Useful for low-difficulty fights.
Auto: Allows the AI to execute your heroes’ Ultimate Skill automatically, but it cannot move your heroes to evade enemy attacks.
TIP: In the game settings in Inariel Legend, you can decide whether or not the game automatically pauses whenever you move your heroes. Turning this setting on should help you plan your moves and evade attacks more easily.
How To Get Stronger
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Listed below are five beginner-friendly methods that you can use to power up your heroes, which will allow you to progress faster early on.

Leveling up your Badges by evolving heroes increases the stats of all the heroes you own, while the 4-Hero System allows you to increase the level of all your heroes according to the four strongest heroes you own.
TIP: Try to pick the four heroes you’d like to invest in early on. You can take back the items you’ve invested in a hero by resetting them as long as they’re below Level 60, so don’t worry too much about swapping them out.
Important Items to Farm

In this section, we will show you the most important items that you must start collecting as soon as you start playing Inariel Legend, as well as what each of them is mainly used for.

Alternatively, you can click the Acquisition Source Icon after viewing items in your backpack to accomplish the same thing:

Clicking either of these two will show you several sources where you can get that specific item, which makes it easier for new players to figure out where to focus their attention first.

NOTE: Not all sources will be listed on the Acquisition Source page, such as limited-time Events that give away multiple types of rewards.
Four Main Objectives For Beginners In Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt
Listed below are four tasks that all beginners should prioritize while playing Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt to set their account up for success in the long run.
OBJECTIVE #1: Clear As Many Campaign Stages As You Can
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Clearing campaign stages is the number one thing that you should be focusing on as soon as you get in the game, since clearing campaign stages is the only way to unlock other game modes in features in the game.
At the very least, we recommend that you try to clear up to Chapter 4-4 on your first day, as this will allow you to complete your first batch of daily missions and give you a good feel for Inariel Legend.
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Another reason why you’d want to clear as many campaign stages as possible early on is that you’ll get more AFK rewards that way, allowing you to power up your heroes faster.
You can also get more AFK rewards by completing Seed of Future missions—most of which require you to clear campaign stages in varying difficulties.

NOTE: You’ll need to play other game modes to complete some Seed of Future missions, so taking short breaks from the campaign is recommended as well!
OBJECTIVE #2: Join A Guild ASAP
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
You unlock the Guild feature after clearing campaign stage 5-4, and joining a Guild allows you to unlock the following exclusive features:
- Guild Lobby
- Guild Trial Yard
- Guild Hunting
- Guild Research Institute
- Guild Shop

Aside from being able to socialize with your guildmates at any time, joining a Guild as soon as possible is a great idea overall because you get access to the Guild Shop, which sells items that all beginners need to collect ASAP.

TIP: Try to join a high-level Guild so that more Guild-exclusive features and Guild Shop items are unlocked as soon as you join, or at the very least, join a low to mid-level Guild with active members that regularly participate in guild events.
OBJECTIVE #3: Add Active Friends
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Adding friends and socializing with them doesn’t just increase your motivation to keep playing Inariel Legend, but also allows you to get more resources in the long run by exchanging Friendship Points.
You can use the Friendship Points you get from other players in the Friendship Shop, which allows you to buy the following important items:
- Gold AFK Rewards (1-Hour)
- Ascension Dust AFK Rewards (1-Hour)
- Hero Recruitment Scrolls
- Hero Evolution Spirits

You can add up to 40 friends and collect up to 30 Friendship Points per day. A friend can only send you 1 Friendship Point per day, and vice versa.
Make sure to only keep active players that give you Friendship Points back on your Friends List, as you’ll need every bit of FP if you want to maximize the resources you get from the Friendship Shop!
NOTE: Another reason why you should add active (and preferably strong) friends is the Mercenary feature that you unlock after clearing campaign stage 9-1, which allows you to use other players’ characters in your battles.
OBJECTIVE #4: Join The Social Media Communities

The best way to keep yourself in the loop when it comes to news about upcoming events, collaborations, giveaways, or even entertainment-related content about the game is to join the game’s official communities.
You can do this by going to your User Settings first, then clicking the Community tab located there. Otherwise, feel free to use the following links to join said communities:

Five Best Tips For Beginners In Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt
If you want to get the best start to your account and avoid pitfalls that can potentially slow down your progress further down the line, then here are the five best tips that you should follow as a complete beginner.
TIP #1: Complete Your Daily Quests, Weekly Quests, & Events
One of the most basic rules of gacha games like this one is to always clear any Daily or Weekly Quests, as this is one of the best ways to collect resources consistently.
Clearing the Daily and Weekly Quests in Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt allows you to farm the following items:
- Gold
- Diamonds
- Privilege Badges
- Challenge Tickets
- Ascension Dust
- Limited-Time Hero Recruitment Tickets
- Hero Recruitment Scrolls
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Events, on the other hand, are time-limited and are a bit harder to accomplish, but give you way more items than Daily and Weekly Quests in the short term.
Participating in multiple Events as soon as you start your account is a surefire way to increase the progress you can make early on, as they usually give you rare items such as Recruitment Scrolls or even S-Rank or SSR-Rank characters as a reward.
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Events are often released with each new hero introduced to the game and will allow you to earn free Diamonds and Limited-Time Hero Recruitment Tickets, which are hard to come by as you progress further in the game.
TIP #2: Choose Who You Want To Evolve Carefully
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
While you can indeed reset the level of any Hero below level 60 and return all of the other resources you spent on them, keep in mind that you cannot take back the Hero Evolution Spirits or the Hero Shards you used.
This means that you’ll have to be careful which SR-Rank or SSR-Rank Heroes you evolve, as they are the ones that require Hero Evolution Spirits to evolve.
Hero Evolution Spirits are rare in the early stages of the game, so you’ll have to prioritize evolving some heroes over others if you want to progress quickly and smoothly.
TIP #3: Save Your AFK Reward-Related Items For Later
As a beginner, the game will throw many AFK-related items at you early on, just like the 1-Hour Gold AFK Reward shown in the image below:
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Now, if you really want to optimize your gameplay as a newbie player, then we would suggest not using these items until you’ve gotten as far as you can in the campaign without them.
This is because you can get a lot more resources if you use them much later when you’ve cleared more campaign stages, instead of using them right away.
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Of course, feel free to use these items at your discretion. After all, using them now and again despite not having cleared that many campaign stages just to meet upgrade requirements should be fine as long as you don’t overdo it.
TIP #4: Focus On A Limited-Time Recruitment Banner
One of the most common mistakes that all gacha players make is spreading their premium or pulling currencies too thin.
If you want to avoid this mistake while playing Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt, then we would suggest spending your Limited-Time Hero Recruit Tickets only on one banner at a time.
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
After all, you get a guaranteed chance of pulling the featured SSR unit on a banner at 50 recruits, as shown in the image above.
This pity system can only be activated once, but is more than worth using all of your tickets on it if you want to get a 100% guaranteed featured SSR character.

Limited-time Hero Recruitment Tickets are among the rarest items in the game, so use them wisely!
TIP #5: Check Out The Popularity Leaderboard For Hero Recommendations
The easiest way to know which heroes are the best at a specific game mode is to check the Popularity Leaderboard.
You can do this by clicking the Heroes icon at the bottom-right corner of your Home Screen:
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Next, you’ll see the Popularity Leaderboard button right away at the bottom-left corner of the screen this time. Click it to proceed:
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
And voila—you can now see which heroes are the most used in every single game mode, including PVP and the campaign!
Photo: HK Hero Entertainment Co. Limited
Just keep in mind that you should use this as more of a guideline rather than a hard-line tier list of each hero based on their actual strength.
Nevertheless, you can use the Popularity Leaderboard feature to see which heroes to invest in and who best to put in your formations for each game mode.
Conclusion
Despite being one of many titles under the cut-and-dry turn-based gacha genre, Inariel Legend – Dragon Hunt is still a fantastic game that balances both its interactive and idle features just fine.
It’s reasonably F2P as well, so you don’t have to worry about burning a hole through your wallet just to collect your favorite heroes!
