Monster Hunter Now – Weapon Upgrading Explained
First off, you need to become familiar with what weapons do. In Monster Hunter Now, they help you eliminate monsters that are out to get you.
The catch with this game is that you will need to get up and walk around in order to find new monsters.
Monsters will be revealed on your map as you walk around. Please be wary while playing this game, always make sure you are watching out for yourself as you are walking.

Remember Pokemon Go? This game is exactly the same sort of concept, however, instead of collecting monsters, you will need to attack them.

Now in order to upgrade your weapons, you will first need to gather the required items in order to forge your weapons first.
The items required to forge a weapon can be obtained by killing monsters. Don’t be alarmed, you will receive your first weapon for free during the Monster Hunter Now tutorial.
This weapon is the “Hunter’s Knife” and is perfect to start out with, however, using it long-term is not advisable, as monsters become stronger and less easy to annihilate as you progress.

Only a small amount of resources are needed the first few times you upgrade a weapon, however, as they overgrade (see details further on), they become more expensive to upgrade.
Each time you upgrade the weapon or armor (equipment), the number of resources needed to upgrade will increase. Make sure you have enough in order to upgrade, as it can become quite expensive.

Overgrading your weapons and making their grade higher will unlock special skills which will be discussed in finer detail below. First, let us take you through a step-by-step guide on upgrading and overgrading:
Upgrading and Overgrading Weapons Step-by-Step
#Step 1
Tap on the weapon icon displayed on the left-hand side corner of your screen. This can be found to the right of your Avatar icon.

#Step 2
Select the item you would like to upgrade or overgrade, for example, the Hunters Knife. You will only be able to level the item up if it has a green arrow displayed on the right-hand side of the item.

#Step 3
Select the Level-up option, or the overgrade option, as you see fit. An additional pop-up screen will show you exactly what is required in order for you to level up, or overgrade your item.

#Step 4
Tap on the level-up or overgrade icon at the bottom of the screen and watch as your item is upgraded.
Note: This process is used for the armor as well. Upgrading armor and weapons makes your character stronger and enables you to face the toughest of monsters!
Switching between the armor and weapons tab will enable you to upgrade and overgrade the items you need to.
