Surviving against the onslaught of adversaries has never been this fun. They’re here, and they are hungry! It is your job to experience the thick and thin and pave your way through the levels in Hero Survivors – Spells Makers.

However, being the sole hero isn’t an easy job. Quite the contrary, you need to get those neurons running at full throttle, and when going gets tough, this Hero Survivors guide will help you get back on track. So, without further ado, let’s jump right in!

Basic Premise

It’s the good O’l survivor formula at work again. You are in a stranded space, enemies are trying to pounce on you. Luckily though, you have magical and physical prowess in Hero Survivors.

Use them, slay as many enemies as possible, and eventually reach the end of the scenario. This naturally also includes some other steps like strengthening your characters, opening chests, and vice versa, but let’s cast that aside from later.

In order to excel at Hero Survivors – Spells Maker, you need a bit of wit, reaction timing, and a boatload of upgrades. But, that’s just the starting line, because the stages never end! You better hold on tight!

Mobs

Mobs

With so many glitters and sparkles (spell maker theme and all), you’d expect Hero Survivors to take things one at a time, but no.

You’re dropped amongst different kinds of mobs trying to figure things out, and while the initial slime battles are smooth, the same can’t be said about the birds. These chaotic flocks zoom in and zoom out before you’re able to catch your bearings.

So, how do you identify the kinds of mobs showing up on your screen in Hero Survivors? By colors! This is primarily because, while remembering the shapes is perfectly fine for early stages, the inherent chaos of mobs filling up your screen makes the visual clutter overbearing.

Plus, with each stage, you’re greeted with new kinds of mobs, so learning about all of them is more or less a futile effort.

Boss Battles

Boss Battles

We’re not going to be solely focusing on mobs in Hero Survivors, especially when the big baddie makes its entrance. While having seemingly simple attack patterns, any form of damage inflicted by a boss mob can potentially be fatal.

It’s not a one-hit-kill, but it can very likely leave your HP bar in the red zone. However, reaching the boss is another big challenge because as soon as a boss is about to spawn, you’re surrounded by an unrelenting onslaught of mobs.

They chip and chunk your health bar until you’re feeble enough to be downed by a gust of wind. It’s not the best time to fight a gigantic boss, but that’s what makes the battle so thrilling.

While most games feature the boss fight at the very end, Hero Survivors – Spells Maker makes you repeat the experience more than once in a single stage. This ensures that, before you start your battle with the final boss, you’re already a battle-hardened veteran.

But, life is not that simple, and each boss has its own ability set. Thankfully though, life also comes in flavors of both good and bad, so the saving grace in this scenario is the long wind time between attacks. Exploit this weakness as hard as you can!

Stage Dynamics – Perfecting Your Loot!

Stage Dynamics - Perfecting Your Loot!

There’s the in-stage loot, and off-stage loot, with either having a unique purpose. While the type of loot you can get on and off stage is starkly distinct, both of them essentially contribute to improving your character.

Stage clear loot includes event-specific tokens, gold coins, and potential runes capable of improving your hero’s abilities.

This, naturally, is not tied with the experience points dropped during the stage, and is only attainable from the EXP gained from clearing stages. As a player, your best bet for power leveling is to repeatedly clear the easier stages to gain easy exp.

However, stages are tuned to give experience based on difficulty in Hero Survivors, so going way back is not as beneficial as it sounds. Instead, just try to circle back to the stage you’re capable of clearing 90% of the time.

Companions

Companions

This is where your journey becomes fun in Hero Survivors; a companion is someone who follows you around while dealing with their own standard attacks in the process. These are targeted toward the swarm of mobs and can prove to be game-changers.

Unlike your own attacks, these do not need to be tracked, since the origin of the attack is not you. Therefore, you can think of them as passive attacks, that deal a ton of damage without sacrificing anything in return.

If you see a companion during your battles, be sure to check them out!

Hero Survivors – Characters

Characters

Hero Suvivors – Spells Maker is fairly new, and while you do get to choose from an assortment of characters, the contention between the good and the great is fairly simple.

In this aspect, all you need to remember is that the more, the merrier, and when each of them possesses a different kind of broken ability, you can’t really go wrong with any of them.

So, the next question is: Do you pay to unlock them? As you can guess, the answer depends on your intentions. Yes, buying a hero early on means a significant boost, but it also means you’ve pretty much reduced what you can experience in-game.

Gacha Elements

Gacha Elements

No mobile game is ever complete without a gacha element, and that too is the case with Hero Survivors – Spells Maker. The game is essentially gacha-centric, with a multitude of loot boxes displaying abysmal pick rates.

However, there is an in-stage gacha element as well, that allows you to gain huge leaps in your prowess for the finite duration of the said stage. All you need to do is to watch ads or find wishing stars on the battlefield.

While the rewards given here are in no way game-changing, they can still pack a decent punch, especially when it boils down to those last seconds of brutal survival.

Upgrading Your Equipment

Upgrading Your Equipment

Perhaps the most labor-intensive part of Hero Survivors – Spells Master, the upgrading system requires your full attention. Every weapon you find on the outskirts of the battlefield can be upgraded and equipped.

Loot naturally has grading, and the higher-grade ones are extremely rare. However, they’re also the ones yielding the most stats. Therefore, while you can all-in on a low-grade weapon, it’s generally not recommended.

Remember those post-stage rewards? They offer resources that can be used to enhance these weapons. Higher grades cost more, while the lower grades offer less, but are just as good if not better to invest in if you’re starting out.

There’s also the chance of unlocking weapon perks, that can go anywhere from executing mobs at certain HP levels to making you an unkillable demon tank. However, achieving a fine balance here is pretty hard.

Generally, you’d want to go for an item set that complements your other items. For example, the execution on your sword could pair nicely with the damage repel on your chest plate. It’s all a rabbit hole of optimizations at the end, and you can only go so deep before it becomes meaningless.

Events => Rewards!

Events => Rewards!

It’s time to look at the crop’s creme; the events are your gateway to successful harvests without spending days on redundant farming.

Some of these are unlocked right away, giving you a set number of tries that refresh after a certain time. However, with most of these events targeting a certain resource, it becomes a great way to grind for those item materials.

Here is the conundrum: How do you know which one to go for? If you know what resource to grind for, then the answer is pretty simple, otherwise, just go for the hardest one (that you can defeat), and the pieces will fill in place.

Tips & Tricks To Master Hero Survivors – Spells Maker

Hero Survivors – Spells Maker features a system where you can earn rewards even when you are not actively playing the game. These AFK (Away From Keyboard) rewards include coins and items that accumulate over time.

This feature is particularly beneficial as it allows you to progress and gain resources even during your downtime. Make sure to check back regularly to collect these rewards and use them to upgrade your heroes or craft new spells.

6. Utilize Codes

Codes in Hero Survivors – Spells Maker can give you access to valuable resources. For example, specific codes grant diamond chests, silver chests, or a substantial amount of gems.

These resources can be crucial in enhancing your heroes’ abilities and arsenal. But, they are ephemeral and can expire really fast. Besides, with only a limited number of them, you won’t be able to base your entire strategy around them anyway.

7. Focus on Resource Management

Strategic use of your assets can significantly impact your progress and effectiveness in the game, both during a stage, and off-stage.

Balancing resource allocation between hero upgrades, spell crafting, and gear improvement is key to advancing through the game’s challenges.

Conclusion

In essence, while Hero Survivors – Spells Maker is a gold mine for a great gaming experience, you still need to do your due diligence to ensure you’re more than capable of formulating your own spells without breaking the bank!
