Challenge. If you had to describe SCP Horror in one word, then that word would be – a challenge because staying alive in SCP Horror is a challenge. You will die in the first few tries because you can’t get hold of the game and before you understand anything – bam! You’re dead.
SCP Horror is an action game built to test your survival instinct and how well you can strategize in a game. The SCP monsters are there to attack you in every round and your mission is to escape their clutches and finish the objectives before they get to you.

SCP Horror – Gameplay
You start SCP Horror as a hero who is up against SCP monsters and your objective is to survive against them. You have objectives to fulfill and you can select the levels yourself.

It is in a first-person mode and the maps are a kind of open world where you can run around fending off the monsters or killing them. The graphics have a very 8-bit feeling to them. Only when you survive or win the round you’ll be able to exit the stage
Power boosts within the game will help you run faster, create a safety circle to keep the SCP monsters away, and give you a magnet feature wherein you can collect the energy boxes from a distance.

Surviving of the Fastest
In the normal mode in SCP Horror, you must collect the energy boxes as objectives. You are given different guns for different stages but they are as good as useless in the normal mode because you can’t kill SCP monsters with it initially.

The only way to survive in the normal mode is to keep running. Run or else you will get caught by the monsters. The energy boxes are huge and they can be seen from a distance, keep running toward them. Collect those boxes and keep running.
Collect the Power-ups
There are three power-ups in the normal mode – magnet, 2x speed, and a vest(Protect). Speed and magnet are the most important power-ups because speed will help you run faster and keep the monsters at a distance meanwhile magnet helps suck the energy boxes from distance.

The vest helps fend off monsters. The vest can take multiple hits from the monsters. All the power-ups have a purpose and to equip them you have to watch an ad to unlock them.
Spend the Diamonds
Well, you need to spend the diamonds that you collect after completing the objectives of each round in SCP Horror.
Diamonds help unlock other maps and areas. If the diamonds are insufficient then you can always watch the ads to get additional diamonds.

You can also replay the round from the exact position where you got killed by spending ]diamonds. You don’t have to restart the whole game again, spending diamonds will actually help you in the game which is nice because there is a method to this madness.
Diamonds also help unlock the Hunter mode in the SCP Horror game. That mode is hardcore and we will be coming back to it in a minute. The more difficult the rounds, the more diamonds you are going to collect. So, keep spending to unlock more stuff.
Hunter Mode
You HAVE to play the hunter mode in SCP Horror. Hunter mode can be unlocked by spending a bit of diamonds. There are two different stages with two different monsters – SCP 096 and SCP 100. When you play the hunter mode, you can actually kill the monsters.

The objective of the Hunter mode is to kill the monsters. In normal mode, you collect energy boxes and in hunter mode to complete the objectives you have to kill the SCP Monsters. The SCP 100 monsters are a level above SCP 096 monsters when it comes to posing threats.
Keep Playing Different Maps/Stages
The reason for this is you get to experiment with different weapons in different stages. As the difficulty increases with each stage so does the type of weapons. When you begin SCP Horror, you start a stage where the weapon is only a pistol.

As you unlock different stages, a higher caliber weapon will also automatically unlock. There are AR guns, Grenade Launchers, and more weapons that you can play around with in different stages.
Maps/Stages
There are 5 maps in the normal mode – City, Winter, Maze, Backroom, and Industry. In each of these maps, there are different difficulty ratings. Each map will get a bit more difficult every time you clear a round.
The SCP monsters’ difficulties will increase as well with each passing round. There are 10 rounds per map and with each round, the objectives and difficulty will change.

There is another hardcore mode known as the Hunter mode which we talked about earlier. Hunter mode will require a lot of diamonds to unlock. There are two maps in hunter mode, one is for the SCP 096 monster, and the other is for SCP 100.
In the hunter mode, the only objective is to kill every SCP monster on that map. Killing all the monsters will complete the mode’s objective and like in normal mode, the difficulty will keep on increasing with every passing round.
Conclusion
SCP Horror Backrooms Escape is a weirdly addictive survival game. It shouldn’t make sense when you first play the game but as you go through the rounds, you get more and more into the game.
