What do you get when you merge Supercell’s Clash Royale with Blizzard’s Warcraft? You get Warcraft Rumble, the newest mobile game by Blizzard that was recently released for both iOS and Android.
Warcraft Rumble is an action-strategy game set in the Warcraft universe. Naturally, this means there are several characters and callbacks from that universe that both long-time fans and newcomers to the series can pick up easily.

To ensure you’re able to get the maximum amount of enjoyment from this long-awaited game, we’re here with this guide.
Here, you’ll find everything you need to know before playing Warcraft Rumble, including what you can expect from it, tips to win more, and whether or not there are any codes for the game you can use for some freebies.
Starting Off

As soon as you first launch Warcraft Rumble after installing it, you’ll be asked to either log in with a Blizzard account or continue as a guest. If you’ve read other articles from us then you’ll know that we ALWAYS tell you to log in with at least one secure account.
Continuing any game as a guest, no matter what genre of mobile game it is, is always a bad idea. Not only can you not play that game on other devices with your account, but it’s also very likely that you’ll lose all of your account data if something happens.

After you’ve made your decision and accepted the Terms of Agreement, you’ll be shown a pretty cool cutscene. Of course, you can skip it if you want by holding the screen.
Finally, you’ll have to go through the tutorial of the game after which you’ll be able to start your Warcraft Rumble journey officially.
Picking Your Leader

Actually, you might have to hold off starting your journey officially until you make one crucial decision. We are, of course, talking about picking a leader.
After the tutorial, every player is asked to choose one of three leaders to lead their team. The choices are random, so it isn’t really worth thinking too much about it. Just choose the one who looks like he might fit your playstyle the best as every leader has something unique to offer.
The Aim of the Game

Now that you know how you can start off with Warcraft Rumble, the next thing to do is to learn the core objective of it.
If you’ve played games like Clash Royale before then it’s very likely that you’ll already be pretty familiar with the game’s mechanics. With that being said, this game is a little more confusing when compared to Supercell’s Golden Child.

Basically, you and the enemy both have one specific side of the arena. The aim is to reduce the enemy’s core health to zero while stopping the opponent from doing the same to you. It’s what Blizzard has started calling a ‘tower offense’ game as instead of just defending your base you’re attacking the other base too.
Plan Your Attack

So, how do you attack your opponent? Well, that’s where Minis, heroes, and other troops come in.
You and your opponent both send troops who march (or sometimes fly) toward the enemy’s base. Your troops intercept the enemy’s troops and the one who takes down the enemy after the multiple troop skirmishes eventually comes out as the victor.
Of course, that isn’t all there is to it. After all, there’s a limit to how many troops you can send at once. At the very bottom of the screen, there’s a bar that has several gold icons. The number of icons represents how much gold you have.

Every troop on your screen also has a number below it in gold. That number represents how much gold you’ll need to use if you want to deploy that unit to battle.
Gold can be replenished either by mining it or by waiting for it to come back naturally, and you can see whether or not a unit is available to deploy by looking at its color.
A grey troop cannot be deployed while if you see one with color it means you have enough gold for it.
A Diverse Cast of Troops

If there’s one thing Warcraft excels at it’s having a diverse cast of characters in its universe. Fortunately, most of them make an appearance in Warcraft Rumble as collectible and playable troops.
Every character in the game has something unique to offer, whether it be their strength, health, ability, or even choice of ride. It’s up to you to determine which troops you should add to your team
A Treasure Trove of Unique Maps

The one thing that sets Warcraft Rumble apart from all of its competitors is Blizzard’s approach to map design. Instead of there being one straight map with different themes like, say, Clash Royale, this game has multiple different maps with different layouts and themes.
This means that while sometimes you might be having your troops go around the boss to flank them, other times you might be sending them upwards to secure the high ground and take the boss by surprise.

This makes it so players have to use a different approach for every single match. In addition to ensuring that the game doesn’t feel repetitive, this also forces users to sometimes think on their feet and use troops they otherwise might not have given a second thought to.
What’s more, is that some of these maps are also recognizable areas from the Warcraft universe. Go through all of the maps and try to see which ones you recognize.

Oh, did we mention that some maps also allow you to interact with them in different ways in Warcraft Rumble?
May it be through switches that you can tap on to guide your troops or by adding crossbows and summoning stones you can claim for your team by having your troops reach them, allowing you to spawn your troops from there.

There are a bunch of other map-related items and features you can interact with, and the best time to do so is before a battle starts. Before tapping the start button to begin a battle, you can tap on anything on the map to get a short description of it.

This way, you’ll know whether or not a chest can be opened by flying troops, or if the enemy’s siege machine can be captured by you. Take your time and study the map before pressing the start button. After all, there’s no rush!
Conquer the World of Azeroth

You might be thinking by now that Warcraft Rumble only features PvP like other games of this genre. Well, then you couldn’t be further from the truth. As a matter of fact, Warcraft Rumble actually has more of a focus on single-player PvE as opposed to PvP.
That’s right, you go around the World of Azeroth while defeating multiple bosses that you might be able to recognize from the Warcraft expanded universe. Every boss you beat grants you gold, experience, and the chance to take on the next boss.

Of course, every boss also has a different map layout and attack pattern in Warcraft Rumble. It’s up to you to decide which team is the best to go with and what strategy you should use to defeat whatever boss stands in your way.

In addition to there being multiple bosses, there are also multiple different regions in Warcraft Rumble. Hinterlands, Plaguelands, Blackrock Mountain, you name an iconic region from Azeroth and it’s very likely that this game has it.
Play With or Against Your Friends
Source: Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
Hey, just because Warcraft Rumble focuses more on the single-player campaign, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any multiplayer elements. It’s possible to create or join a guild when you unlock the guild function.
Guilds are unlocked when you collect ten sigils, and they offer various rewards to their members. These rewards include unlocking uncommon upgrades for your leader, unlocking talents for your troops, and many more benefits.
Alternatively, for those wanting to test their might out against their friends or other players, Warcraft Rumble also has a multiplayer feature. The PvP feature is unlocked at 8 Sigils, which means it becomes available fairly early in the game.
Every victory in this game mode rewards you with some well-earned goodies, but all of that is nothing compared to the satisfaction of defeating another player with your troops.
More Ways to Play

If the story mode and PvP prove to be too little, then there are other ways for players to play this game too. The first method we want to highlight is Arclight Surge. These are special missions that unlock at 22 Sigils.
All the missions include unique constraints, and completing them rewards you with some goodies. However, it’s worth noting that Arclight Surges refresh every Thursday and Sunday, so it might be a good idea to clear them sooner rather than later.

Additionally, there are also dungeons that unlock at 30 Sigils. Dungeons give players the chance to level up their Leader’s army slots, further strengthening their armies.
I you’re already done with everything Warcraft Rumble’s campaign has to offer, then how about trying the endgame heroic campaigns?
While they unlock at 50 Sigils so fairly late in the game, they offer players both a challenge and the opportunity to further level up their armies.
Build the Perfect Army
Source: Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
At its core, the main thing you have to do if you want to consistently win in Warcraft Rumble is to craft the perfect army. Unfortunately, it isn’t really easy to do that, but we’re here with some tips that will make the process significantly more bearable.
Understanding Your Army
Source: Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
Before anything, it’s important that you understand the units you can add to your army. In Warcraft Rumble, there are leaders and heroes.
Leaders are responsible for managing other troops, while Heroes stand as formidable individual units. Additionally, there are also spells you can add to your army.
Every troop is unique in its own right and can be used in a variety of ways in Warcraft Rumble.
While some can be deployed anywhere, others deal damage while being deployed. Go through all of the troops you acquire to ensure you’re ready for anything the enemy throws at you.

It’s also important to note that you can level up your Minis to increase their attack damage and health. You can get experience from many different places and by doing different actions like completing missions and checking out the G.R.I.D.
Perfect Typings
Source: Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
We’re all familiar with the rock-paper-scissors mechanic that Pokemon popularized years back. Well, Warcraft Rumble has a similar mechanic as every unit has a set typing.
There are flying units, melee units, and ranged units. One type is weak against a type and strong against another, and perfecting this is key if you want to consistently take out your enemies.
- Flyers defeats Melee
- Melee defeats Ranged
- Ranged defeats Flyers
Utilizing the G.R.I.D
Source: Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
Are you wondering where you can get more units? Well, let us introduce to you the G.R.I.D. Here, you can use gold to purchase a variety of things including heroes and leaders.
One thing to note is that not everything will be available to purchase from the get-go. Instead, as you progress in the game and unlock more sigils, you’ll be able to purchase more things from here.

There’s always the fact that the offerings of the G.R.I.D are constantly refreshing, so it might be a good idea to keep a close eye on it at all times. Who knows, you might find something you like.
Does Warcraft Rumble Have Codes?
Source: Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
At the time of writing, Warcraft Rumble does not have any codes. Also, there’s no option to redeem codes anywhere in the game.
Of course, since it’s still a rather new game, it’s still very likely that Blizzard will release an option for players to redeem codes they find on social media to get some freebies.
As for what these codes can potentially give players, Blizzard honestly has a lot of options.
While it can be a sort of currency like gold, it can also potentially be something like a free hero or leader to celebrate a special occasion. We think there might also be codes released for emotes and avatars.
Conclusion
This is everything you need to know before you start playing Warcraft Rumble. This is a game that is still getting content added to it, which means you’ll have to play the game for yourself to figure out some things.
Of course, that is to be expected from a Warcraft game, so we don’t think anyone is surprised.
