Loony, witty, and comedic, OneMore Game Studio‘s simple yet effective role-playing gacha game, Merge Duck 2, proves that a fun game doesn’t have to take itself too seriously to be enjoyed.

In a game similar to Newbie Life, you get to recruit colorful heroes – all ducks – into a glorious team of space-faring and planet-conquering warriors. With a total of 72 diverse characters for you to summon, here’s a quick tier list to help you identify which of them deserves your attention:

As the commander of your own spaceship, you find yourself marooned on an unfamiliar planet after you crash-landed onto unknown territory. To survive, you enlist the help of newfound allies, all capable fighters worthy of your ‘divinity’ (the local ducks see you as a celestial entity who fell from the skies).

You can explore multiple game modes in Merge Duck 2, leading the same rag-tag group in all of them while collecting valuable resources to grow and strengthen your members as you see fit.

Tougher enemies await you as you beat the game’s challenges, so knowing which hero to welcome into your party will prove crucial to your long-term success. Here’s how each in-game character fares right now:

Tier 1 (Omnipotent)

In Merge Duck 2, combat plays out automatically, meaning you have to let your team fight by themselves while you watch everything play out from a distance. As such, the power level of each hero is important, with these characters serving as the most overpowered members on the battlefield:

  • Demigod Area
    • [A-Rank] Ra, Nuwa
  • Mecha Front
    • [A-Rank] Lucifer
  • Armored Legion
    • [A-Rank] VF Fighter, Alchemist, Mad Scientist, Fire Captain, Alloy Fortress
  • Blade Empire
    • [A-Rank] Pioneer, Magus, Martial Emperor, Crimson Sweetie
  • Ultra Guild
    • [A-Rank] Magic Master, Storm
  • Meta Union
    • [A-Rank] Vampire, Shadow Shark, Tendo Lightning, Ninja Hanzo

Although not as scary as those in Tier 1, heroes in this category are still fearsome and effective. They can wreak havoc against various enemy lineups, with some of them creating multiple debilitating effects on foes:

  • Demigod Area
    • [A-Rank] Valkyrie
  • Mecha Front
    • [A-Rank] Paladin, Nightmare
  • Armored Legion
    • [A-Rank] Destroyer, Autoduck, Cyborg, Strike Machine, Stormbringer
  • Blade Empire

  • Blade Empire
    • [A-Rank] Shadow Warlock

  • Ultra Guild
    • [A-Rank] Lord of Flame, Rider, Lightning
  • Meta Union
    • [A-Rank] Infester
    • [B-Rank] Triangle, Puppet

Heroes in Tier 4 are impressive in the early stages of the game, but their value gradually diminishes as you face more powerful enemies later on in Merge Duck 2 (unless built around specific team compositions):

  • Armored Legion
    • [B-Rank] Rugby, Drummer
  • Blade Empire
    • [A-Rank] Shura Toshi
  • Ultra Guild
    • [A-Rank] Onion Duck, Butterfly
    • [B-Rank] Super Rabbit, Crazy Boy
  • Meta Union

Tier 5 (Meh)

When it comes to these heroes, you might be better off ‘retiring’ them for the added resources and materials used to empower your other more reliable recruits:

  • Armored Legion
    • [C-Rank] Bubble Soldier, Rocket Soldier
  • Blade Empire
    • [C-Rank] Gladiator, Archer
  • Ultra Guild
    • [B-Rank] Green
    • [C-Rank] Trainee, Sniper
  • Meta Union
    • [C-Rank] Slingshot, Foolish
