MiHoYo has managed to create one of the most enrapturing games of 2023 with their release of Honkai: Star Rail. Essentially, the game is a more confined and streamlined version of Genshin Impact. Trading open-world environments for bustling sandboxes, miHoYo has managed to keep the essence of Genshin Impact while adding the flavors of Honkai Impact 3rd.
Both familiar and completely new, Honkai: Star Rail weaves recognizable characters from Honkai Impact 3rd into an original story with a high-fantasy and sci-fi setting. Much like the Vidyadhara race in the game, miHoYo has managed to resurrect and breathe new life into one of their original IPs, Honkai Impact 3rd, with the release of Honkai: Star Rail.
Much like miHoYo, the character featured in this guide is a character who also breathes new life into your party members, the acting leader of the Vidyadhara, Bailu.
Ability Priority

Ultimate =>Talent => Skill => Normal Atk
Bailu is a committed healer and her most effective healing ability is her Ultimate. Since it heals everyone in the party based on her HP, you will want to prioritize leveling it up over her Talent and her Skill.
Afterward, you will want to level up her Talent because it is the source of Bailu’s unique mechanic, resurrection. Additionally, this talent increases the healing bonus of Bailu’s Invigorate, a special effect that heals any allies who recently took damage for a percentage of Bailu’s max HP.

Finally, you will want to invest in her Skill. While also a heal, there is a random component in which the heals will bounce an additional two times to random allies. This is a great part of Bailu’s kit that allows you to heal any ally who is in danger of being incapacitated. But low investment in this skill means unfavorable bounces, which leads to not getting enough healing on a character you are trying to keep from dying.
It’s important to remember that all parts of Bailu’s kit are what makes her a great healer. But by prioritizing the above abilities, you can make the most of Bailu as you build her instead of needing to wait until you’re finished upgrading her abilities.
Traces

- Qihuang Analects – When Bailu heals a target ally above their normal Max HP, the target’s Max HP increases by 10% for 2 turns.
- Vidyadhara Geo-Veins – Invigoration can trigger 1 extra time.
- Aquatic Benediction – Invigorated characters receive 10% less damage.
Another of Bailu’s unique mechanics is Invigorate. This passive ability grants stacks of Invigorate to any allies Bailu has healed. Allies who have stacks of Invigorate heal for a percentage of Bailu’s Max HP whenever they are hit by enemies.

This means Bailu’s traces amplify character survivability by increasing the benefits received from the Invigorate buff. Vidyadhara Geo-Veins increases the maximum stack of Invigorate from 2 to 3, while Aquatic Benediction straight up reduces the damage Invigorated allies take by 10%.
Finally, Qihuang Analects can help increase the survivability of characters with a low HP pool. Such as Hunt characters like Seele, or support characters like Tingyun. Additionally, this trace can work offensively for characters like Blade who deals damage based on his Max HP, or even a Clara who dishes out damage whenever she is hit.

Until the release of Lynx in version 1.4, Bailu is one of only 3 healers available in the game. While she offers no cleanse for whenever allies are suffering from a debuff, she is unmatched in her ability to heal allies and resurrect anyone who has been incapacitated.
