Omega Strikers is a complicated game with multiple lairs of progression and as such, it has a lot going for it, however, some of them can be a little tricky to fully grasp, especially if you are new to this type of game. What is Omega Strikers?
Omega Strikers is an action sports game that was developed and published by Odyssey Interactive. The game was originally released in April 2023 for multiple platforms including PC, Nintendo Switch as well as mobile platforms iOS and Android. However, less than a month later, the game was ported to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Omega Strikers – The Basics
Omega Striker has two teams of three players go against each other in an effort to get the core, a disc-shaped object resembling a hockey puck or a frisbee, into the goal of the opposing team.
Each of the three characters on each team has its own role to fulfill such as fighter, goalie, or support, and a unique set of abilities that they can utilize to accomplish that task.

In addition to kicking the core around with their abilities, characters can also use them to deal damage and otherwise incapacitate or disrupt the players on the opposing team in an effort to score a goal more easily.
Over the course of multiple matches, players gain experience points and can upgrade their abilities, increase their stats, change their appearance, and get their hands on many different kinds of rewards.

Omega Strikers offers the player a wide variety of characters to choose from, each with its own unique abilities as well as advantages and disadvantages. While there are many characters to choose from, all of them can be grouped up into three groups based on the role they fulfill on the playing field, so let’s take a look a closer look at them.

Melee Brawler
Melee brawlers, as the name itself implies, are characters who specialize in melee combat, and as such they are perfect for players who like to play aggressively, focus on the offense, and score goals. Characters in this category are almost always at the center of the action, chasing the core and battling against enemies. Melee brawlers are capable of dishing out a lot of damage as well as taking a fair amount of it, so they are perfect for players who aren’t afraid to get into their enemy’s face.

Ranged Fighter
Ranged fighters are an excellent choice if you are somebody who likes to switch between offense and defense whenever the situation requires such change. Characters within this category can perform long-ranged attacks and take shots from a distance while at the same time being able to back up and play defensively. Almost like being in two places at once. The downside of ranged fighters is that they are usually less durable than melee brawlers and can’t take a lot of damage from enemies.

Defenders and Support
Defenders and support characters are masters of defense and their main job is to put up walls, defend the goal and help their team by providing various buffs for them. While these characters can be played both offensively, they tend to work best when they are kept on the defensive side, carefully monitoring the situation and providing whatever help they can while simultaneously staying out of harm’s way. You won’t be making many goals as a defender or a support character but your role will be crucial in order to achieve victory.

Omega Strikers – Training
Upgrading and training your characters in Omega Strikers is extremely important. This can be done by adding various perks to the abilities that your character already has. By doing so, your character will gain various boosts to their stats such as shot power, speed, reflexes, etc. Training may seem somewhat difficult at first glance, but once you get the basics of it down, you will quickly master the ins and outs of it.

Omega Strikers – Gear and Awakenings
Gear is essentially the equipment that you can choose for your character to wear before the start of each match. There are different types of gear available and each one provides your character with a unique bonus such as increased speed, improved range of some of your abilities, more powerful strikes, and much more. Depending on the position that you are playing as well as the team you are playing with, your selection of gear will likely vary, so choosing the correct piece of equipment to wear is of utmost importance.

Aside from gear, another important element of the gameplay is the awakenings. Awakenings are special effects that increase your character’s stats or improve their abilities and they can differ depending on the mode that you are playing. At the time of writing this, there are more than thirty awakenings that you can utilize to gain an advantage over the opposing team.

Omega Strikers – Currency
Like many mobile games out there, Omega Strikers has its own currency system that consists of three different types of currency. Each of them can be used to unlock different things and aspects of the game so let’s take a closer look at them.

Striker Credits – This type of currency is the most common and the most important one that you will be able to obtain. The most common way to obtain striker credits is to simply play more matches in the game. On occasion, completing specific missions will also reward the player with striker credits. Players can use this type of currency to unlock new characters.

Style Points – Style points are the second type of currency that you can obtain in Omega Strikers. The best way to get your hands on these is to level up in the game. The more you level up, the more style points will be rewarded to you. Style Points are usually used to purchase various cosmetics for your characters as well as to advance through the striker pass.

Ody Points – Last but not least, we have Ody points, the premium currency of Omega Strikers. This currency is used to unlock additional content of the game and is the most difficult to obtain. While players can get their hands on Ody points for free, it is usually not worth the time investment, so the simplest way to obtain them is to just buy them with real currency.

Omega Strikers – Missions
Omega Strikers features its own mission system which allows players to complete specific tasks and challenges in order to earn various prizes. Each of the missions that the player completes will earn them a unique reward, however, the rewards aren’t limited to things like currency or items. While some missions will indeed grant you such rewards, many of them will reward you with a new character, a new game mode, or unlock a specific feature of the game.

To make things easier for players, each mission also features a “Go” button next to it, so players can just click on it, and the game will take them to wherever they need to go and provide them with everything required to complete that specific mission.

Trust Your Teammates And Play Your Role
You have probably heard the expression “Teamwork makes the dream work” and it is completely applicable to Omega Strikers. Since Omega Strikers is a team-based game, it goes without saying that it is mandatory to believe in the abilities of your teammates.

Don’t go around the field trying to do everything by yourself. Focus on fulfilling the specific role you have chosen, whatever it may have been, and do your best. Leave the other roles to your teammates and trust them to do their best as well and pull their own weight.
Focus On The Core
Regardless of what position you are playing, always pay attention to where the core is. Remember, the main objective of Omega Strikers is to get the core into the goal of the opposing team. It is not a death match, and while you can, you don’t have to beat up all of your opponents on the field. As long as the core gets into the opposite goal, that is all that matters.

Use Your Energy Burst Wisely
Every character on the field has an energy meter which when filled up, unlocks a special ability called energy burst. Everything that you do on the field fills up your energy bar including kicking the core, hitting enemies, and collecting pickups. Once you fill your bar completely and unlock the energy burst, you can use it to push away all your enemies and instantly stop the core in its tracks and gain a free shot.

It goes without saying that this is an extremely powerful ability and should be used only in specific situations like stopping the core from entering into your goal. Just keep in mind that your opponents have access to this energy burst as well.
Collect Power Orbs
Over the course of the match, at various points in time, green color balls will spawn on the field. These are called power orbs and they can be collected by every character on the field. Power orbs can be used to regain some of your stagger bar, and you should always pay attention to where and when they appear and whether you should collect them. Power orbs can also grant bonus experience as well as other perks such as refilling your energy meter so always keep an eye out for them.

Complete Missions First
We already mentioned above that completing missions in Omega Strikers will reward the player with unique bonuses and unlock various aspects and features of the game. This means that completing them will not only provide the player with a bunch of experience but also various other things that they may use to get an edge in the next match. For these reasons, you should prioritize completing missions as soon as you start playing the game.

Use The Barriers and Edges
Barriers are usually used to block shots from the enemy team, and most of the time you will find yourself trying to shoot the core straight towards the goal of the opposing team. However, barriers and edges of the field can be used to bounce off the core in different directions, therefore confusing the enemy team and making it harder for them to gain control over the core.

Adapt And Overcome
We know we mentioned that it is extremely important that you play the position that you chose at the start of the match, however, there are exceptions to that rule. The player always must be ready to adapt to the current situation. If your teammate has made a mistake or has gotten temporarily;y knocked out of the game, it is up to you to give it your all to try and compensate so the team doesn’t have to bear the consequences.
